It’s Disney World’s 50th anniversary and there are a LOT of new things making their debut around the parks and hotels today!
We’re at Disney World getting a first look at alllll of the new things so we can tell you all about them. New fireworks, shows, rides, and more — it’s a very exciting day, you guys!! Something that may get overlooked with all this excitement (but shouldn’t!) is the debut of some brand new restaurants, and we’re here to tell you all about the newest restaurant at a classic Disney hotel!
Steakhouse 71 is now open at Disney’s Contemporary Resort! The new restaurant took over where The Wave was just a short time ago.
The restaurant had a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening today!
The 71 is a nod to the year Walt Disney World opened, which is also why the restaurant is opening today, on the 50th anniversary!
This spot offers casual dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is also a lounge that’s a part of Steakhouse 71 that offers a few bites to eat and cocktails!
The decor inside is inspired by design elements from the ’70s with hints of Florida heritage. The color palette is navy blue and gold, with various wooden elements — and we are loving this new look!
There are also a few Disney World details!
For breakfast, you can try things like the Floridian Eggs Benedict, the Steakhouse 71 Feast, and Seasonal Pancakes! Today we ordered the Fresh-baked Breakfast Pastries for $10. We were served a croissant, cheese danish, cinnamon roll, chocolate muffin, and lemonade muffin.
We had to try the EARidescent Sip-a-bration for $10 and the Sherbet Punch for $7. The Sherbet Punch is made with Orange Sherbet, Sprite, and House-made Grenadine.
The EARidescent Sip-a-bration is made with Lemonade and Fruity Strawberry Punch, served in a souvenir 50th Celebration Cup. The little Mickey drops in the drink to change the color!
We also tried Walt’s Prime Rib Hash for $17, which is made with Seared Prime Rib, Fried Potatoes, Caramelized Onions & Peppers topped with a Fried Egg.
And the Steakhouse 71 Seasonal Pancakes are $14, which includes a seasonal flavor of pancakes served with a choice of Bacon, Pork Sausage, or Chicken Sausage. This season’s flavor is PUMPKIN.
We couldn’t NOT order the Steakhouse 71 Feast, which was indeed a feast. It came with Eggs Benedict, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, a Mickey-shaped Waffle, Bacon-Cheddar Grits, Breakfast Potatoes, and Fresh Fruit for $20.
We are stuffed, and make sure you stay tuned for our full review of breakfast and dinner at Steakhouse 71. And yesterday we shared our FULL lunch review.
We really enjoyed lunch and cannot wait to head back for dinner this evening.
