Happy 50th Birthday, Disney World! We’re celebrating with the entire resort! 🎉
And what a celebration it is! There’s a new nighttime show at EPCOT, there’s a new fireworks show at Magic Kingdom, there is SO MUCH MERCHANDISE, and even new entertainment. But the thing we’re most excited about is all the 50th anniversary food! SO MUCH FOOD!
And being us, you know we’re going to try out all the most interesting treats, so we headed over to Casey’s Corner at Magic Kingdom, where three NEW special 50th anniversary menu items have debuted! THREE!!! Like where do we start? Decisions, decisions…
The first new item is the 1971 Meal, which is a Chili-Cheese All Beef Hot Dog, French Fries, Fountain Beverage, and a 50th Anniversary Cake Pop. It’s available for $19.71 (do you see what they did there? 😉). We skipped on this one today considering it includes pretty basic menu items from Casey’s, but make sure to check it out on your next visit.
Next up? The 50th Celebration Hot Dog for $11.99. Now, this thing is a little savory AND a little sweet — it’s an All Beef Hot Dog topped with Strawberry Bacon Jam, Crisp Funnel Cake Pieces, and Powdered Sugar.

If that’s not the most “theme park” food item you’ve ever seen, then we don’t know what to tell you. But is it actually good? Well, we actually didn’t mind it! It was kinda fun with the bacon jam because it gets a little extra sweetness that we thought was interesting.
Truthfully, we sort of wish that the dog had included MORE of the funnel cake and powdered sugar. It was a really unique combination that we enjoyed for a few bites (we’re thankful it wasn’t a footlong because that would’ve been TOO much). And if you cut it in half, it’s the perfect size for sharing as an out-of-the-box snack!
We’d say we’re ready for a little something sweet, but we’ve already had sweet, so let’s keep that train rolling. Casey’s has also introduced the Pressed Penny Silk Pie for $6.49. This is a pie made with a Chocolate Tart Shell and a Silky Chocolate Filling, topped with Sweet Whipped Cream and a Chocolate-Pressed Penny.
So how was it? Well, it was chocolate…it’s delicious! We honestly wouldn’t expect any less. We really enjoyed this treat and if you’re a fan of chocolate or you have a sweet tooth, we definitely recommend trying it out — it’s rich and sweet in all the right ways.
Stay tuned because we’re trying out all the 50th anniversary foods, and we’ll have more reviews up for you soon!
