We are so excited about the newest ship in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet, the Disney Wish!
The ship will set sail for its maiden voyage in June 2022 from Port Canaveral, FL, and will offer 3- and 4-night cruises to Nassau and Disney Cruise Line’s Castaway Cay. And there is going to be SO MUCH TO DO on the ship for EVERY age group.
We’ve already learned a lot about fun activities on the Wish for kids and adults, and we even learned more about the Oceaneer Club, a place for parents to leave kids. And those kids will have access to activities in the Fairytale Hall, Marvel Super Hero Academy, Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, Star Wars: Cargo Bay, and Minnie Captain’s Deck.
Now, Disney has announced activities for older kids ages 11 to 17 on the Disney Wish. They’ll get access to “trendy hangouts,” as well as programming led by counselors made just for them.
This includes the Edge hangout, where tweens from ages 11 to 14 can hang in a colorful space meant to look like a New York City loft. They’ll be able to play games, watch movies, and indulge in a solar bar. There’s even an indoor solarium as well as “photo walls” that will let tweens share vacation photos with their friends back home.
Meanwhile, at Vibe, teens from ages 14 to 17 can hang out, watch movies and play games, as well as participate in activities created for their age group. This space looks like a Parisian loft with “electric retro” twist decor. There are also floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean.
The Hideaway is a “hip new hangout” for older kids and younger adults ages 18 to 20 where they can chill out, enjoy smoothies, listen to music, and more. This space even has a DJ booth and dance floor, and activities include karaoke and dance contests. Um…FUN!
These spaces will give teens and tweens a chance to get away from their parents and hang out with others their own age, all the while cruising on Disney’s iconic new ship. And if we learn any other details about the Disney Wish, we’ll be sure to share them with you!

Just got off a 7 day on the Fantasy and got some interesting news to pass along. Cast members on board report that Disney has been secretly building another island stopover similar to Castaway Cay exclusively for the Wish class ships. Located several miles from Disney’s current island, a local islander noted that island construction at the new sited started about 5 years ago when the order went in for the new ships. With over 5,000 guests on board, the facilities will be slightly larger to accommodate the day visitors from the Wish. This was news to me, I have not heard anything about this.

Ken, thanks for sharing this. I will have the team look into it. My first thought was Lighthouse Point (new stop for Disney in the Bahamas, was headed by Joe Rohde), but the timeline is 2024, I think, on LP.
