The following review is based on DFB Reader Jill I.’s visit to Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii. She was kind enough to share her thoughts and photos on some Halloween treats and more snacks that you can grab at the tropical resort.
Disney’s Aulani is a resort located on the Hawaiian island of O’ahu!
While at Aulani, you can visit the spa, say “hello” to some fun Disney characters, and (of course) grab some delicious treats. But, if you want to get some extra special (and spooky) snacks, now is the time to visit!
Recently, one of our fantastic DFB readers, Jill I, visited Disney’s Aulani Resort and got an array of Halloween-themed treats as well as a Dole whip Creation. Jill was kind enough to send over some great photos and notes on their thoughts about these snacks.
First, we’ve got the Cookies ‘n’ Cream Red Velvet Cupcake. This cupcake is made of a Red Velvet Cake with Cookies ‘n’ Cream Frosting, Sprinkles, other decorations including some chocolate pieces with pumpkins and sugar spiders, as well as a White Chocolate Vampire Mickey Topper. You can find this treat over at Ulu Cafe!
Jill shared that the cake portion they had was a little bit on the dry side, but the cookies ‘n’ cream frosting on top was similar to a cream cheese frosting and was pretty delicious!
Next up is the Pumpkin S’mores Cupcake, which features a Pumpkin Spice Cake, Chocolate Ganache Filling, Toasted Marshmallow Topping, and a Chocolate Mickey Pumpkin Topper. You can find this treat over at Ulu Cafe as well!
According to Jill, the cake paired well with the chocolate ganache filling. This cake was more moist than the previous one, making this a tasty treat.
Finally, there’s a non-Halloween treat — the Minnie Dole Whip Waffle Bowl. This is made of a Dole Whip with a Waffle Bowl and Chocolate Minnie Topper from Little Opihi’s Beachside Kiosk. You can get vanilla, watermelon, pineapple, or a swirl of two flavors for your Dole Whip (the combination pictured before is a watermelon-pineapple swirl!).
Our experience with watermelon Dole Whip in Disney World has been…interesting. Sometimes it has tasted artificial, sometimes it’s tasted like bubble gum — it’s been quite the ride. So, how does it taste in this treat? Well, Jill shared that they felt this swirl was delicious! Maybe watermelon Dole Whip just tastes better in Hawaii! Plus the waffle bowl was tasty too. Jill also noted that the waffle bowl stayed crisp and didn’t get too soggy, which was great!
A huge thank you to Jill for reaching out to us with this information and fantastic photos. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more Disney news, so stay tuned for all the latest updates.
