Not too long ago, Disney World shared that there would be more than 150 new snacks, treats, and drinks for the 50th Anniversary.
We have been making our way through a whole bunch of these new dishes, and today our food adventures brought us to Magic Kingdom for one of the new 50th Anniversary snacks. Spoiler alert: this one has neither blue food dye NOR glitter. 😯
We found this particular 50th anniversary snack at The Lunching Pad, which is a quick-service restaurant in Tomorrowland. This location does have mobile order. Here, you can typically grab some classics like a Cream Cheese Stuffed Pretzel, a slushy, or a hot dog, but today we were after something special.
The Lunching Pad is the home of the NEW “If You Had Wings” Chicken Strips. These are Caribbean jerk chicken strips, served with a side of Lays potato chips or a Cuties mandarin orange.

You get four chicken strips and the side for $10.49. (We also added on a soda to our meal, which is $3.99.)
We thought the taste of Caribbean jerk was very prominent in these chicken strips, which we loved! The seasoning is just on the outside of the batter (you can see it on the strips), and we couldn’t taste any within the chicken itself. But the flavor still came through without being overly spicy.
We’re pretty sure these are just the normal Disney chicken tenders tossed in a jerk seasoning. But, we do enjoy some good Disney World chicken strips, and the seasoning makes a big difference in our opinion.
The chicken was very good, although two of our four tenders were a little bit dry. We asked for some Ranch dipping sauce on the side, which helped out with that!
If you like the Caribbean jerk flavor or spicy flavors in general, you might really enjoy these! It was a great, filling breakfast/very, very early lunch, and we loved that you can mobile order at this spot.
If you don’t like the jerk flavors, though, you might want to head to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe (located nearby, also in Tomorrowland) and grab some of the regular chicken strips instead. Although the spices aren’t too overwhelming on these strips, the flavor is still strong and you can’t really get around it.
Overall, we thought these were a very tasty, quick meal for a Magic Kingdom day! We like that it’s basically a classic theme park food with an exciting twist that makes the chicken much more interesting.
