Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ in Disney Springs is a restaurant that elevates and celebrates Southern and Floridian cuisine with “farm-to-fork” food and delicious eats!
Yesterday, we found out about some brand new menu items at this fan-favorite restaurant including gator bites and whiskey flights. Today, we’re trying some of these new dishes. Let’s dive in!
Homecomin’ has been a longtime favorite here at DFB. Headed by Chef Art Smith (you know, Oprah’s former private chef and celebrity culinary star, he’s a big deal), this restaurant has amazed us with meal after meal of deliciousness. In the past, we’ve loved the restaurant’s Rise and Shine Brunch, its Southern-inspired offerings, its Moonshine drinks, and well…just about everything. This is a “must-do Disney” spot (extra points to anyone who knows the reference!).
First off we got the Bootlegger Whiskey Flight with Woodford Bourbon, Woodford Rye, and Woodford Barrel Select along with sides of Spiced Pickle Juice and Candied Pecans for $30!
We really enjoyed this flight and recommend you get a second drink to go with this one if you don’t want to drink them straight — they are very strong. These were definitely meant to be sipped and savored and the pickle juice was a nice palate cleanser between drinks. The Barrel Select was the best of the three drinks, with a nice smoothness and plenty of burn making it the strongest of the trio.

Next is the Conch Chowder, which has tender conch, tomatoes, and vegetables for $14.
This one surprised us! When we saw the name of the dish, we were expecting something very seafood-flavored and salty, but this was more like a spicy gumbo with a nice tomato flavor. This was a super delicious addition to the menu, especially for anyone that likes spicy stews!

There’s also the Catfish Sandwich, which has crispy-fried Gulf Coast Catfish fillet, lettuce, tomato, and remoulade sauce on toasted Cuban bread for $19.
We’re not always big on catfish, but we think this sandwich could win over a catfish hater pretty easily. The fish was lightly breaded and had a nice crispiness and even stay flaky and crunchy with the slaw on top of it! Plus the chips on the side were a highlight as always.

Finally, we got the new version of the Chargrilled Chicken, which has two grilled chicken breasts, sliced avocado, succotash, and a cup of conch chowder (which we subbed out for some yummy Mac & Cheese) for $27.
This dish was so good! The chicken was extremely juicy, the avocado and succotash were a surprisingly good pairing, and everything came together for a very refreshing bite. The succotash actually has a light dressing on it made from olive oil, apple cider, and house seasoning which adds another subtle flavor to this dish.

In a conclusion that’s surprising to no one, we loved everything we tried at Homecomin’ today! We’d definitely recommend trying out any of these new dishes if you’re looking for delicious Southern food with a fine dining twist!
If these dishes aren’t your jam, Homcomin’ has a lot more to offer including a delicious Hummingbird Cake, the iconic Fried Chicken and Doughnuts, and so much more. You really can’t go wrong on this menu, so if you see something you might like, give it a try!
If you’re looking for a similar experience, but want more focus on wine and shareables, check out another Disney Springs favorite of ours, Wine Bar George! Headed by Master Sommelier George Miliotes, this spot has a wide range of wines and spirits and some delicious bites, including a fun picnic basket option.
If you want to try something more internationally-inspired, Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs is a fine dining experience inspired by Pan-Asian cuisine and headed by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. It also has a more affordable and accessible Quick Service option, Morimoto Asia Street Food.

For my favorite food bloggers … you probably already did this hack, but pay for the side of pimento cheese and add it to the grits. The heaven it creates only amplifies the Hallelujah biscuit with chicken.
