Peppermint drinks have arrived, snacks themed to snow and Christmas trees are on their way, and (of course) there’s Santa Mickey merchandise galore. That can only mean one thing…the holidays have arrived in Disney World!
Yes, yes, we know it was JUST Halloween, but Disney World is not wasting any time when it comes to decking the halls for the holidays. And today, the day after Halloween, a very special holiday tradition returned to a fan-favorite Disney World hotel.
Last year, the iconic gingerbread displays were not put up in Disney World’s hotels. But, this year the gingerbread displays are BACK in full force at select spots.
In fact, starting today, you can stop by Disney’s Beach Club Resort to take a look at their absolutely gorgeous gingerbread carousel as it nears completion. Of course, we had to make our way over there to see it in person!
Every year, the theme of the Gingerbread Carousel changes. Back in 2018, it featured horses themed to Donald Duck and more. In 2019, we saw a Peter Pan theme. This year, the life-size spinning carousel is themed to The Little Mermaid (how appropriate for the Beach Club!).
This amazing work of art features hand-painted holiday characters, gingerbread shingles that are handcrafted, and even some beautiful snowflakes made of fondant that celebrate Disney World’s 50th anniversary.
Several of the carousel’s horses were in progress…
…and the talented team was also working on decorations inspired by characters like Scuttle and Flounder!
They look just as excited about Christmas time as we do!

A sweet Cast Member was also nearby handing out pieces of the gingerbread for guests to try!
Don’t mind if we do!
If you get hungry after looking at (and smelling!!) this amazing gingerbread display, you can grab some tasty treats to satisfy your holiday appetite too. If you’ve never seen these displays, it’s well worth the quick walk over from EPCOT or even the boat or Skyliner ride over from other spots. You can also stop by The American Adventure Rotunda in EPCOT and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to see more epic gingerbread displays later this year.
