Happy holidays everyone!
Yes, we know, Halloween JUST ended, but Disney is releasing holiday treats all over the place! As if we weren’t excited enough by the holiday merchandise and decorations, we’ve been getting in the holiday spirit by trying festive treats at some Disney World resorts. Now, we’re headed to Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts where there is a treat for guests with dietary restrictions!
Over at Beach Club Marketplace, the Beach Club Lobby, and The Market at Ale & Compass, you can find the Plant-Based and Gluten-Friendly Brownie. It’s made with chocolate brownies and chocolate ganache. This treat is pretty simple and we’ve been very impressed by plant-based treats before, so let’s see how it tastes!
Our DFB reporter who tried this brownie is vegan, and he said that it was amazing. The consistency is very appealing, and there’s a strong chocolate flavor from both the brownie and the frosting. It was moist and fudgy, which is exactly how a brownie should be, in our opinion.
The frosting was also a big hit — our reporter said it was delicious and smooth and not at all like the coconut oil nightmare that you’ll sometimes find on plant-based desserts. It tasted just like a traditional chocolate frosting. According to our reporter, even non-gluten-free or non-vegan eaters would probably really enjoy this dessert.
Another popular vegan and gluten-free spot in Disney World is Erin Mckenna’s Bakery NYC (located in Disney Springs). We thought this brownie was actually better than most of the treats we’ve had over there. The brownie is simple and delicious, and it very closely resembled a normal, fudgy brownie.
If you prefer a more cake-y or dense brownie, this might not be your favorite. It was sort of similar to a pudding cake, in that we couldn’t have picked it up if we wanted to. It was too soft and moist for that, but we thought the texture was perfect for this particular treat.
In short, this brownie is a blessing to all plant-based or gluten-free eaters. We’ll definitely be back for another one soon!
You can get the Plant-Based Brownie for $4.99 at the Beach and Yacht Club Resorts. The brownie will be available from now until December 31st, so be sure to check it out if this looks like something you’d enjoy! We’ll continue to show you the holiday treats all over Disney World — stay tuned for more!
