We’ve been seeing all kinds of holiday treats in Disney World over the last couple of days.
EPCOT
We tried a couple of the holiday confections that you can find in display cases at bakeries in all the parks, like eggnog fudge, themed caramel apples, and more. But we’re SUPER excited for the latest treat that’s now available in EPCOT! Over the last couple of years, this treat has become a very important part of the holidays in EPCOT for us, so we’re really happy to see it return now.
Where can you find this holiday delight? Just head to Karamell-Küche in the Germany pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase.

This store has all kinds of caramel treats, like delicious caramel popcorn, caramel squares, and even caramel s’mores.
Yum!
But we’re here for a very specific festive item: the Werther’s Original Gingerbread Caramel Cookie Sandwich.

This treat is two soft gingerbread cookies held together with buttercream icing and Werther’s caramel inside. You can get one for $5.99.
Gingerbread Caramel Sandwich
Last year, the gingerbread caramel sandwich arrived earlier (in October), so we were a little nervous when it didn’t show up around the same time this year.

But it turns out, this delicious confection was just politely waiting its turn. Now that the pumpkin treat season has passed, it’s full on gingerbread from here! You’ll find plenty of gingerbread flavor in the caramel cookie sandwich, with two BIG cookies (and lots of icing in between).

And it is oh so delicious!

We did notice that this year’s cookie appeared to have less caramel than previous years. Perhaps that was just what we had in our cookie, or maybe the switched up the recipe a bit! Either way, we thought the icing had the perfect consistency, and the combination of the caramel drizzle and the ooey gooey cookie was to die for!

I went to Epcot last night 11/7/21 and sadly they didn’t have it, I also checked the mobile order this morning and it’s still not there. I hope it makes a return because I SOOOOO want to try this.
