Sacré bleu! It seems there was a little kitchen mishap over in France recently.
Sometimes, things go wrong in Disney World. You drop your Mickey bar, you trip over the ledge on Main Street, U.S.A., an attraction has a little technical difficulty…we’ve all been there! Recently, a new (and very popular) attraction was evacuated in EPCOT. Talk about a kitchen nightmare!
It seems like there was a little trouble at Gusteau’s; Cast Members escorted guests off of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure as part of a full ride evacuation. This attraction — based on the Disney film Ratatouille — first opened in Disney World just about a month ago, on October 1st.
Thanks to DFB reader Doris, we can take a look at what happens when Disney’s newest EPCOT attraction breaks down. As you can see, all the lights are turned on.
Guests used a step stool to exit the cars to avoid standing on the attraction vehicles. From there, families were safely walked out of the attraction.
Recently, we’ve been seeing longer wait times and some attraction closures around the parks, so be prepared for a technical difficulty or two if you’re headed to Disney World.

Sometimes you can plan on those attraction closures (if Disney has scheduled maintenance), but other times the rides may close unexpectedly due to technical issues or weather.
In fact, on the same day that Remy’s broke down, we saw that the PeopleMover over in the Magic Kingdom was evacuated as well.
Remember that you can use the My Disney Experience app to see which rides are temporarily closed while you’re in the parks.
When you combine thousands of guests with intricate ride vehicle systems, it’s nearly impossible for things to run smoothly 100% of the time. Luckily, Disney Cast Members are a big help when things go wrong! In the meantime, be sure to stay tuned for more Disney news and updates.

We were at Magic Kingdom at WDW yesterday and were also evacuated off of Pirates of the Caribbean after 45 minutes of sitting with the hundreds of folks with the lights on—thankfully they shut off the audio and animatronics after 15-20 mins!

Tower of Terror has had one of the elevators down since Nov 2. The motor in one shaft is being replaced which is why wait times have been astronomical this past week

Tonight we got in line for Ratatouille at 7:45 pm to be evacuated after standing in line for 1.45 mins to be told “something unsafe happened” and to see a CM for questions. We were given a LL to use the following day at any park.
Unfortunately we weren’t going back to Epcot the rest of our trip so we didn’t get to ride it 🙁
