Another week has gone by and we’ve gotten all kinds of big updates!
From the start of NEW holiday events to information about Disney’s financial standing and new Disney+ content, we’ve got ALL of the biggest Disney news for you here in one place!
1 — Potential Cut in Portion Sizes & More News from the Earnings Call
This week, Disney shared its earnings report for Q4 of fiscal year 2021 and held an earnings call, sharing all kinds of information about their financials and more.
During the earnings call, we got an update on just how many subscribers Disney+ has now, an update on 3 BIG Disney+ titles, how theme park revenues have increased by BILLIONS, and Disneyland Magic Key sales.
We also got to learn just how many guests are buying Genie+ in Disney World, and when Disney expects to recover from the loss of international visitors. Disney also shared that attendance and guest spending is UP in the parks.
When it comes to cutting costs, one Disney official also gave a bit of a peek into what the company may be considering, including changing suppliers and potentially cutting portion sizes. See more here.

2 — Disney+ Day
Hooray — Disney+ Day took place on November 12th, the 2-year anniversary of Disney+ and we got to celebrate with some BIG news.
First, a whole bunch of new content is now available to stream on Disney+, including Jungle Cruise and Olaf Presents. You can click here to see the FULL Disney+ lineup.
Disney+ subscribers also got the chance to enter the Disney World and Disneyland theme parks 30 minutes early today. They were also able to get a FREE Disney+ Day hat in Disney World!
Plus, today (on Disney+ Day) Disney+ subscribers got some free PhotoPass downloads in Disney World and there were even special Disney+ Day Magic Shots in Disneyland and Disney World!
Some exciting characters also made appearances in the parks!
In terms of streaming news, we got a whole bunch of updates including:
- a FIRST LOOK at Hocus Pocus 2,
- a sneak peek at the Obi-Wan Kenobi series,
- a look at the name for the WandaVision spinoff series focusing on Agatha Harkness,
- a full list of the NEW marvel shows coming to Disney+,
- and a WHOLE BUNCH of trailers, previews, posters, and more for upcoming Disney+ movies and shows!
Disney even released 2 plushes for pre-order, including an ALLIGATOR LOKI plush!
Basically, it was a Disney+ news explosion!

3 — Holidays in Disney World
The holiday season has arrived in Disney World and there’s LOTS to see! Over the past few days, a whole BUNCH of holiday snacks have appeared in Disney World, and more are on their way.
From holiday nachos to a hidden holiday bar, we’re bringing you ALL the tasty details.

This past week, we also got to check out the Christmas Tree Stroll in Disney Springs…
…the completed gingerbread house (and sweet treats) at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa…
…holiday filming in the parks, holiday decorations in EPCOT, a gorgeous resort Christmas tree at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and more! Holiday decorations and Christmas trees are also up at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Recently, more celebrity narrators were also announced for EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional.
This week, the Merry Menagerie also made its way back to Animal Kingdom…
…and we spotted Santa in Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom!
But, perhaps most importantly, this week we got to check out the NEW Disney Very Merriest After Hours holiday event in Magic Kingdom! The event has essentially replaced Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party for this year.

4 — Holidays in Disneyland
Over at Disneyland, the holiday season has begun as well. This week, the Festival of Holidays began at Disney California Adventure Park! During the festival, guests have the chance to check out some fun entertainment and (of course) eat and drink LOTS of tasty treats!
We’ve already made our way through some of the booths, and we’ll be checking out more of them soon!
The easiest way to enjoy the festival (with the Sip and Savor Pass) is also back, so if you’ll be attending the festival you can look into that!

Cutting portions and raising the prices. Yep, sounds like Disney.

Cuts in food portion size…??? Just another way we may be getting less for our money in Disney theme parks. The fact some food items can be shared to save $$ is one way guests presently cope with high food prices. Concerns were expressed by corporate executives about guest waistlines but the real concern is clearly the “bottom line” at Disney. (sigh)
