It’s holiday time in Disneyland Resort!
In addition to all the festive decor in the parks, Festival of Holidays has debuted in Disney California Adventure (DCA), and while you’re making your way around DCA and trying all the new holiday foods, you can stop and meet Santa Claus himself!
Now in Disney’s California Adventure, the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail has been transformed into Santa’s Holiday Visit. In addition to all the holiday decor, you can also meet Santa!
This is not JUST about Santa though. Guests can also have fun with festive games set up on the trail by Santa’s elves!
Near the entrance, you will find a map of all the new activities along the trail. You can also pick up an activity map to take with you.
According to the sign, “The mischievous elves love to play games, so they have created some fun for everyone.”
Areas around Santa’s Holiday Visit include Gift Hide and Seek, “Ducked Out” for the Holidays, Jingle Bridge, Treats for Santa, Fly with the Reindeer, and, of course, Visit Santa. You can explore each area of the train and try to find all the hidden decorations and toys!
Let’s go meet Santa!
All you have to do is get in line to meet Santa, and he’s located by the Ahwahnee Camp Circle.
As Buddy the Elf would say, “SANTAAA!!”
And after you finish giving Santa your Christmas wishlist, you can purchase a Cookie Decorating Kit.
In the Cookie Decorating Kit, you get a Mickey-shaped snowman cookie, frosting in white, red, and green, and red and green sprinkles.
And there’s even a cute little area to decorate cookies after you see Santa if you don’t want to wait till you get home!
So head to Redwood Creek Trail in Disney California Adventure to play some elfish games, meet Santa, and decorate cookies! And keep reading DFB for all your Disney World AND Disneyland news and info!

Lisa says
I’ve looked around for the answer to my questions but I’m yet to find it – are kids able to take photos with Santa or is the meeting purely a quick visit from a distance? We have a trip there in a couple of weeks and I’ve been very curious as to how they’re doing it.
DFB Sarah says
Lisa, kids can get close enough to talk one on one with Santa, but there’s still a little distancing (no hugs, for example). You can take a photo; the child will be slightly in front of Santa, not on his lap.
Jennifer says
Hi there!
Do you know if cookie decorating closes prior to the park closing?
DFB Sarah says
Jennifer, I don’t find that information available online. I’ll see if our Disneyland reporter can find out. It looks like Redwood Creek Trail closes at 8PM, but Santa meet times aren’t posted online. Let me see if we can find out for sure.
DFB Sarah says
Jennifer, I had our Disneyland reporter find out for you. The stand closes at 7PM, but they often sell out before that time. So the earlier in the day you can get there, the better, I think.
Jennifer says
Good to know!
Thank you for looking into that!
