Are you visiting EPCOT today or in the near future? Well, we have news that could impact your day.
Sometimes rides close down in Disney World, and it’s not possible to predict when or where those closures will happen. We do know, however, that a popular EPCOT ride will be closing early on select dates this week and we’re sharing all the details you need to know here.
Today, as we were in EPCOT, we received a notification indicating that Test Track will be closing early at 7PM today. This is not the first time Test Track has closed early in the last few weeks.
When we asked a Cast Member why Test Track has been closing early, they said the ride has been receiving a lot maintenance work. According to the Cast Member, it will close at 7PM today and tomorrow too.
Test Track is the fastest ride in Disney World, reaching speeds of up to 65 miles per hour. If you’re looking for a thrill ride in Disney World, then this might be at the top of your list and a must-do.
If you are hoping to ride it today or tomorrow, you’ll want to plan on getting in line earlier in the day, and make sure to check the My Disney Experience app for updates during your visit.
Test Track can close early due to bad weather as well, but in this case at least the early closure is something that Disney has warned guests of, so you can plan accordingly. Also, as we mentioned above, this is something that we’ve seen announced for Test Track before, so it’s something you might want to be prepared for in the future.
Keep in mind that schedules and operating hours for rides are subject to change. Be sure to have your My Disney Experience app updated so you can get those update throughout your trip.

Todd says
Test Track is in dire need of a new storyline. The original storyline was better, but it was understandable why the decision occurred to freshen things up. Imagineering likely thought the interactive component would be appealing, but technology improves so quickly that the designing your own vehicle aspect is no longer interesting. The current story seems weak and guests just wait for the portion outside. I still miss World of Motion.

Let’s just hope someone in maintenance doesn’t do something stupid like “forget to turn the water off”
Charles Davenport says
How can you plan a meal if you have a genie+ and not know your next ride timez?
DFB Sarah says
Charles, you’ll get a one-hour window for a Lightning Lane return time with Genie+, but if that timing really doesn’t work with an Advance Dining Reservation, you can try for a different time.
