There are all kinds of construction projections going on in Disney World.
Recently, a ride got a NEW scene, we shared the latest on the TRON coaster, and we’re on the lookout for updates about the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride. Now, we’ve got updates about one of Disney World’s thrill rides and an iconic figure that sits in front of it.
For quite some time, the giant guitar outside Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith has been covered up by construction walls and scrim as the Disney team performs some construction work.
But, today, we stopped by this spot and saw that the refurbished guitar has emerged from its construction cocoon. Does it look any different though? That’s the question we were asking ourselves. Let’s see if you can spot any differences.
Here’s what the guitar looked like before (this photo was from back in September)…
…and here’s what it looks like now! There are still some tarps on the floor where construction is continuing, so it seems things aren’t quite done yet.
The guitar is looking as bright as ever. It looks like some of the features that used to have a bit more of a dark, silver color are lighter now (though more work could still be on the way for those areas). And the guitar pick in brown on the bottom left looks like it’s having some work done to it as well. Tell us what differences you spot!
Overall, things don’t really look that different. But, that could be a great thing if you’re a fan of this guitar just the way it is.
More construction projects are going on all over Disney World, especially at EPCOT as the park undergoes a huge transformation. We’ll keep an eye out for more construction updates and bring you the latest Disney news.

The old pic looks burned. It used to have a sponsor name on it. Does Rockin Roller have a new sponsor?
DFB Sarah says
beautiful gorgeous, updating this: currently there is no announced/official sponsor.

Sarah, i have my doubts that Gibson would use a Fender Stratocaster to promote the ride.
DFB Sarah says
John, of course, you’re right. I did find that a little perplexing, and I should’ve done a second round of research. Currently it looks like there’s no official/announced sponsor (not since Hanes pulled out in 2018). Thanks for reaching out!

Was the neck of the guitar blue and silver before? It looks like it used to be all black.
