It’s no secret that Disney is all about embracing technology — not just in the parks, but also in ways that can benefit and assist guests visiting those parks.
Mobile Order has changed how we get food at the parks, Mobile Checkout has changed how we shop, and Disney Genie has changed how we plan our days in each park. And recently, we shared how Disney will use Amazon Alexa to offer guests their own Disney-themed digital assistant at home AND Disney World hotels.
Well, today at Destination D23, we got an update on this service called “Hey, Disney!” which is a “custom voice assistance” that works with Alexa on Amazon Echo devices. The service will be available for use at home, but it will also be available at Disney World hotels.
The service will assist guests with room amenities, guest services, planning, weather, and more!
Disney World will begin to roll out Hey, Disney! to its resorts next year, in 2022! And it will be complimentary (aka FREE) for all guests staying on property.
Today Disney announced that the service will also make its way to Disneyland resorts, too! Watch a video to kind of see Hey, Disney in action below.

They said all attendees will receive one or free. But what about my plus one? Will they receive one as well since technically my name is on both tickets. Hmm
Janice Edwards says
This is a golden opportunity for someone in the lobby to hack into your devices. This has happened to me at Disney World before, and without Alexa.
