We have BIG news for those looking to purchase a new Annual Pass.
We have previously shared that Annual Pass sales could be paused in order to assist with park capacity. Now, Disney World has updated their website and have done just that.
New Annual Pass Sales
According to the Disney World website, Disney will be pausing the sales of the Pirate, Sorcerer, and IncrediPass for the time being.
The Pixie Pass is still available at this time. The Pixie Pass is $399 plus tax and it’s only available to Florida Residents. This pass can hold 3 park reservations at once but has the most block-out dates of all of the passes. As stated above, ALL other passes cannot be purchased at this time.
Current Passholders
However, current Passholders CAN continue to renew into ANY of the 4 pass types.
So, when it is your time to renew, you will still have access to the 4 passes. Current Passholders should be able to customize their pass with add-on options at any time. These include the Water Park and Sports option and the PhotoPass option.
Learn about renewing your Annual Pass here.
Remember, Disney World is just pausing sales for the time being. We will continue to monitor Annual Pass sales and we will let you know when all of the passes become available again.

Laura says
I’m a current passholder, renewed in September so still gold members. Have a question about new passes being on hold. I have a toddler turning 3 in couple weeks, would I be able to purchase a pass for him? Really dont want pixie pass since we dont have the blackout dates with gold and usually go on weekends and always with the children
Johnny says
No, Disney doesn’t disdain it’s biggest fans. Not at all.

Bernie Skoch says
I wonder why.
Someone on another site suggested cynically (but credibly) that this move is intended to preclude people attending WDW this holiday season on day passes, then applying the cost of those passes to APs, and then returning next holiday season without cost for park admission.
I have no clue….
Brandon says
And you know what will happen when they go back on sale?
There will be a massive price hike!
I guarantee it.
I think this was their plan all along.
James Teiber says
My wife and I were able to renew our weekday select Florida pass. We are Florida residents.
Howard says
What if you purchased a Annual Pass but haven activated it yet? will you still be allowed to activate it?
Mike P says
Huh. Hopefully this will be temporary. I was just going to purchase an IncrediPass for myself for my trip starting in January.
Rob says
I see Bob Chapek and Josh D’Amaro are up to there plans(s) to dismantle and destroy they the joy of Disney with another way to screw over dedicated loyal guest. Why is there a limit on passes now? They say it is “crowd control”, but is it really? To me it seems like they want to limit the passes because they make less money with pass holder. Funny how the most expensive pass still available to purchase, but the more affordable ones are not.
MARY JANE HAMILTON says
PRICES TO GET IN THE PARKS AND FOR PARK PASSES ARE GETTING OUT OF HAND.
DISNEY IS CHARGING FOR PASSES ATHEN CHARGE AGAIN TO SEE ATTRACTIONS AFTER YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID TO GET IN PARK, I CALL THAT DOUBLE DIPPING!
Mike says
What’s the REASON for pausing Annual Pass sales?
DFB Sarah says
Mike, I don’t believe Disney explained the pause. If we hear a confirmed reasoning, we will update.
DFB Sarah says
Rob, I, of course, don’t know what Disney’s reasoning is for pausing Passes. I do want to clarify that the least expensive Pass (Pixie Dust Pass) is the one that’s still available. The more expensive ones are paused.
DFB Sarah says
Howard, yes, you should still be fine to activate it.
DFB Sarah says
Laura, I think you will want to reach out to Disney about this — possibly to VIPassholder services, since they may have a more specific idea. I know back when Disney wasn’t selling Passes, they did make exceptions for kids who turned three. I would hope they’d still be able to do that for you, but I just don’t know for sure.
Matt says
What a bummer. My wife and I were going to buy annual passes for the first time in December to use next year. I don’t really understand the reasoning behind the pause. If it’s because of crowd control, isn’t that the reason for the Park Pass Reservation System? If I have an annual pass I couldn’t go to the parks that are capacity anyway, right? So what does it matter if I buy the pass now or later? Our next long Disney vacation is in January, so I hope they lift the pause immediately after the holidays.
Chris Lockett says
Now that we are officially in 2022 and past the bulk of the holiday rush at WDW (presumably the reason why they suspended new AP sales), are there any updates as to when/if they will un-pause new AP sales?
DFB Sarah says
Chris, so far there’s no word from Disney on this.
Susie says
Yes, sadly we just moved here, Nov. 18, we’re preparing for a 60/30 birthday celebration (ten years in the planning) with our whole family. Promised full annual passes for everyone for Christmas and birthday (lol) and the day before we planned on the big purchase, our kid’s godparents called to tell us no annual passes….for the trip we got our local annual passes but had to purchase Saturday and Sunday so we could be with the kids…cost about the same as the annual pixie pass for the two weekend days. I really don’t gripe, but thank you for letting me tell someone who would “get it”. Thank you ❤️
DFB Gigi says
We totally get it, Susie! We also hope you had/have a great time!!
Cris Wildermuth says
We are moving to Orlando in June and I was looking forward to purchasing an annual pass. I can’t discover the block out datesfor the Pixie Dust, can you help?
Michelle says
Where is the best place to check when the passes are become available again?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Michelle! You can find the link to the annual pass page here. This page will be updated when annual passes are available again, but we are also keeping an eye on it and will update as soon as we have any information. 🙂
DFB Gigi says
Hi Cris! You can find the Admissions & Blockout Dates Calendar here. Just click on the Pixie Dust pass and then “All Parks” to see the blockout dates.
Cris Wildermuth says
Hi DFB Gigi. The link you shared is not working. I’m just sent to a page with “Gold” and “Silver” passes (not sure what those mean). Am I messing up somewhere? Thank you so much!
DFB Gigi says
That’s so strange, Cris. It’s taking me to the blockout calendar. You might want to try googling something like “Disney World Annual Pass Blockout Dates” to see what comes up for you.
Jack says
Universal Annual pass is a better value anyway. Not as big as Disney but a little better for teens and adults. They have some great new hotels.
Alex says
The reason is not crowd control. It is because Disney makes more money from people having to purchase individual tickets. It also strIkes fear in passholders to renew their pass if they were thinking of not doing so. Simple, profit. Any business’ main concern.
mj says
it is now mid September 2022, does anyone know if they are ever going to bring back annual passes? We are a family of many years as annual pass holders, Over the years, we went several times a year, purchased a lot of merchandise and food in the parks, stayed in Disney resorts and were loyal return customers and loved it but can’t justify paying park tickets every time we come at full price. You would think they would make more money from loyal Annual pass holders. I don’t understand the logic
Brandon says
MJ:
Most of what disney does and says makes no sense. For example, Bobby Paycheck says people love the reservation system and park hopping after 2pm. And apparently park guests love paying for Genie+ when it used to be free.
When Disney says AP holders don’t spe d as much money? Remember that? I spend more money multiple times per year than I ever did when I came one time per year.
They are just giving excuses.
I personally feel like they are waiting to see how the Disneyla d AP lawsuit pans out.
And they probably won’t put them back up for sale until the reservstion system goes away.
