Today is the official start of the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays!
But while we’ve been running around trying out all the snacks, we’ve seen some a few flying guests today at the parks (and no, they did not have a park pass reservation!). So what is all the buzz about?
Seriously, we FINALLY get holiday decorations at EPCOT and Figment FINALLY puts on his holiday sweater, and we’re just busy enjoying the festival when these unexpected visitors keep trying to STEAL OUR FOOD. Like the audacity! And if you guessed that we’re referring to the fact that the Disney bees have returned, you would be correct!
We’ve seen these bees often, usually lurking about inside pastry displays or around festival booths. And we guess they just couldn’t resist all the delicious snacks at the festival today, but they especially wanted to dive into our treats!
They also seem to be fascinated with our drinks! Like…REALLY?!?!?! Get your own, Bee!
We even had bees landing on our tripods. Looks like we have a new member of the DFB reporting team!
So if you’re headed to EPCOT for the Festival of the Holidays, be on the lookout. You might find bees…everywhere! So keep an eye out! Do note: We encountered quite a few Yellow Jackets as well.
We’re covering EVERYTHING about the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, so stay tuned for more!

Chris says
The “bees” on pictures #2 and #4 are not bees, they’re hornets, which are a type of wasp. Honey bees, as in the first photo, are not typically going to sting you. Hornets are a bit more dangerous, but not as much when it’s a solitary hornet away from the hive.
MicheleA says
There is a bee on the rim of the green rim and boozy sip. But you have wasps on the snack and the phone/camera mount. Bees are not as aggressive as wasps or hornets.
Carol says
Being allergic to bees, that’s a pretty unsettling sight!
Jamie Lynn Natole says
Bees are okay. Yellow Jackets are not bees and they are not okay.
Jz says
So a couple of those are indeed bees…and the other ones are actually yellow jackets. I would be fine with a bee landing on my food as long as I see it before I take a bite, but I would scream and run if a saw a yellow jacket anywhere near me. Those things are mean.
Micah says
Not to be a “bee nerd” but aren’t the worker bees Ms. Not Mr.?? 🤣🤣 just saying… 💁🏼♀️but love the post!!
DFB Sarah says
Micah, thanks for sharing your bee nerdiness with us! I’ve passed your message along to the editors.
DFB Sarah says
Jz, I hear you. I keep my distance from wasps for the same reason. Passed your message along to the editors, too!
