Okay, EPCOT, we see you. We may still miss the Cinderella Castle dream lights over in the Magic Kingdom, but Spaceship Earth is saving the day! Now that the holiday season has FULLY arrived in Disney World, let’s talk about the park some serious holiday spirit: EPCOT!
Between the Festival of the Holidays, the fan-favorite Candlelight Processional, the holiday scavenger hunt featuring Olaf, AND the holiday overlays on two attractions, there is a lot to see and do this winter in EPCOT! But, there’s one ride in particular that you HAVE to see at night!
Living with the Land is located in the same building as Soarin’, and the wait times are typically pretty low for this attraction (though they can get longer during the busy holiday period). Don’t let those relatively low wait times fool you, though! This is an informative, relaxing, and FUN attraction — especially during the holidays! The first few scenes we rode through didn’t look any different…
…but we quickly found some festive details when we got closer to the greenhouse! We had seen these details installed in the ride previously, but it was awesome to see them all lit up and in full force. We were greeted with some Christmas lights as we went through the tunnel into the greenhouse.
Oversized Christmas ornaments, colorful little lights in the sand, trees covered in lights…yeah, Living with the Land went ALL out for the holidays!
What’s that up ahead? A family of adorable snowmen! Only in Disney will you find three happy snowmen that can survive the Florida heat!
Riding this attraction at night made it even better; all the plants are super bright and illuminated!
Mickey’s got a red nose and antlers, and we’re obsessed.
As we rode past the eggplant trees, we were blown away by the tiny lights covering the branches. It’s a simple little detail, but it makes the attraction so special!
As you can see, there are lights EVERYWHERE! They really add a festive feeling to the attraction.
Over in the biotechnology lab, the scientists hung their stockings with care, and even decorated with some larger-than-life snowflakes!
It’s safe to say we had an amazing time riding through Living with the Land at night with the holiday overlay. Seriously, how can a Christmas tree made out of chemistry flasks not make you smile?
While you can see some these decorations on the ride during the day, riding it at night is a totally different experience and one we think you shouldn’t miss out on! The next time you’re in the park, try to make some time to visit this attraction once it gets dark. We hope you enjoyed a little peek at this adorable Christmas overlay. =In the meantime, stay tuned for more Disney news!
