If you’ve ever been to Disney World, you may have rope-dropped a popular attraction at some point. We’ve discussed the pros and cons of rope drop, but have you ever tried to be first in line for a bakery? Believe it or not, even some FOOD locations in Disney World can accumulate some major lines.
Don’t believe us? Take a look at the massive line for Gideon’s Bakehouse this morning in Disney Springs.
We arrived at Gideon’s Bakehouse on a cloudy Sunday morning at around 9AM before Disney Springs officially opened. We were allowed to enter Disney Springs a little early, so we headed straight to Gideon’s Bakehouse. As you can see, we weren’t the only ones with this idea.
By around 9:30, the line was already looking pretty long! Keep in mind that Disney Springs doesn’t officially open until 10AM.
Take a look at the line only one hour after Disney Springs opened! The queue extended way past Gideon’s Bakehouse and towards the bridge.
As you can see, Gideon’s Bakehouse is a SUPER popular little bakery! It may not look too exciting on the outside, but the lines prove this is a major destination in Disney Springs.
After all that waiting, we tried some new treats! You can read our review of the new holiday Gideon’s treats here.
We started our day off the best way with a few holiday treats from Gideon’s Bakehouse! 🎄

Keep in mind that we visited Disney Springs during Thanksgiving break AND a weekend, so we weren’t surprised to see a crowd quickly forming. Gideon’s Bakehouse also utilizes a virtual queue, so if you want to avoid standing in such a long line, try seeing if the virtual queue is available! In the meantime, stay tuned for more news, updates, reviews, and more!

We made our first ever visit to Gideon’s – Disney Springs this past Black Friday, getting in the virtual queue around 7PM, before a dinner reservation. The wait list was 3 hours which worked out well to allow us time for dinner and drinks. We received a text to return about 2 hours later, and after a short wait, we were inside about 10 minutes after that. Being so late in the day, we missed the bag of 6 bites, but were able to get the Krampus, Dark Coffee Cake (after sunset only), the Original Chocolate Chip, and the Pistachio Chocolate Chip. The virtual queue was definitely the way to go!

I do this at least once a month! I even made a mask saying “Gideon’s Gallop” and I’m getting to know some of the staff, especially one manager. I’ve been first in line 5 times since last Feb., that’s how popular Gideon’s is. I always go on a Sunday morning, and I can tell you, the timing to hit the parking garage precisely at 8:45 when they allow cars to enter is not easy. We do a rough review of whatever treats I bring home, and if they’re treats we really love, I’ll go back at least one more time during that month to pick up some more–some for us to enjoy right away, and some for the freezer! Our freezer is so full of Gideon’s we’re discussing buying a chest freezer JUST for those wonderful baked goods.
