UPDATE: As of this morning, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has reopened.
Unfortunately, sometimes rides break down in Disney World.
Whether for technical difficulties, weather, or something unknown, it is usually unexpected when you’re in the parks. Today, one ride was shut down in Disney World due to smoke.
Smoke on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster shut down the ride this afternoon and guests were evacuated from the ride and area.

But, according to a tweet from Landon McReynolds of WKMG, there was no fire, just smoke in the building. He also says that no one was hurt and Disney is in the process of reopening the ride.

When we went by to check with Cast Members, they said there is no estimated time on when the ride will reopen — they said hopefully it will reopen later today, but there is no guarantee. They also told us that the ride has been closed for a couple of hours due to “technical difficulties.”
Cast Members were stationed both in the entrance of the attraction and entrance to the area, telling people the ride is closed and sending them away.
When we took a look at Disney Genie+, there were Lightning Lane passes open for 7:20PM, but that does not mean the ride will be open by that time. We’ll keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB for news.
