We woke up to an ominously foggy day in Disney World today that seemed to preview the technical problems we’ve experienced in the parks, and now it seems that there’s another issue in Magic Kingdom.
When you’re going from the Transportation and Ticket Center to Magic Kingdom, you generally have three transportation options to get to the park entrance: the Monorail, the ferry, or a bus. People traveling to and from Magic Kingdom might have some trouble right now as a main transportation option is closed, so if you’re in Magic Kingdom today, you might want to read on.
As of writing, both Monorail lines from Magic Kingdom (Express and Resort) are closed. While the EPCOT Monorail line remains open, you cannot take the Magic Kingdom Monorail lines at this time. This is not the first time we’ve seen this happen recently!
The Magic Kingdom Monorail Express line runs between Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center, and the Resort Monorail line runs between Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The Monorail area was marked as exit only, and the entrances were roped off.
A Cast Member stood in front of the Express Monorail line to inform guests about the closure.
The Magic Kingdom ferry is still open, so that’s pretty much the only option to get to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) right now from Magic Kingdom. If you’re pulling up to the TTC right now, you might experience a longer than usual wait for the ferry, but remember that you can also take a bus from the TTC to Magic Kingdom!

The EPCOT Monorail line is still running so you can also choose to park hop to EPCOT this afternoon! We’ll be watching closely for the Magic Kingdom Monorail lines to reopen, so check back with DFB as we learn more about this closure!

Given the high inflation rates at WDW, guests deserve better than to consistently encounter issues like this. Disney has been cheap for years in attempting to perform band-aid fixes to a monorail system that exceeded the original life expectancy many years ago. They seem to think fresh paint and color-matching the interiors will solve mechanical problems. I recall when riding the monorail was a highlight of a visit. Instead it has become a form of transportation to avoid.

Disney is have so much problems with rides and every thing else. No shuttle rides to the magic Kingdom with walks over 1 mile. Rides breaking down.. o paradesbut the cost getting inside the park has rose too. Food is high and horrible.. we going great smoky mountains. Plenty to view nature and see the park.. it’s cheap also.. give it a try.. u will enjoy and come back.
