New Years Eve will be here before we know it, and it’s sure to look a bit different in Disney World this year!
Last year, the parks closed earlier than they normally would, but this year, they’re staying open late again. EPCOT and Hollywood Studios are open until 12AM and Magic Kingdom is open until 1AM. There are also a few celebrations taking place over at Disney Springs at places like The Edison and Raglan Road Irish Pub. And, the first official party was just announced for a Disney World hotel!
Disney’s Contemporary hotel will host a special event called A Golden New Year’s Eve in Wine Country up at California Grill! The Napa Room of the restaurant will be transformed into an eclectic speakeasy and will feature a slight-of-hand magician performing while you sip on wine and custom crafted cocktails.
Over in the Sonoma Room, you can see Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Baby New Year Donald! There will also be a DJ and a roaming violinist playing at the event. Between the 2 rooms, you’ll find 50th Anniversary food stations which will have food that honors the legacy of California Grill chefs. Take a trip down memory lane as you dine on some favorite offerings from the last 50 years. Here’s a look at some of the menu highlights:
- Chilled Appetizer Station
- Chilled Seafood Bar
- Caviar Station with Potato Blinis
- Smoked Beef Tartare
- Chilled Golden and Candycane Beet Salad
- Wood Burning Station
- Perigord Black Winter Pizza
- Duck Char Sui Bao
- Sushi Station
- An array of maki, sashimi, nigiri and a collection of original sushi creations
- Hot Seafood Station
- Lobster Ravioli

And, there will be an ice sculpture! It will feature both the 50th anniversary and California Grill logos. Then, at midnight, you get to ring in the new year by watching the fireworks show at Magic Kingdom from the restaurant!
The event takes place on December 31st, 2021. Check-in starts at 7PM and the event goes from 7:30PM to 12:30AM. To make a reservation, you can call (407) 824-2013. The cost of the event is $700, including tax and gratuity, with full payment due at the time of booking. Cancellations must be received at least one day prior to event to avoid being charged full price.

Davio says
100 million percent , if you can afford this event you attend this event.
Eileen McKenna says
$700 per person?!?!
Ken says
Hmmmm,
Would like to go, but a little late for planning… I am already committed.
Janette Jeffries says
Yes, I definitely would, if i could afford it!!!!!
Robert Dunn says
I have spent over $350.00 pp at Party for the Senses with more exotic food, drink and entertainment. I’m not sure that this Party makes any sense.
Marian says
That is an absurd amount of money to spend on a few hours. Plus there is nothing on that menu I would even consider eating. I can only imagine how tiny the portions are. After all Disney does feel that their guests could stand to loose weight! The excuse? “Let’s start out the new year eating smaller portions, but paying greedy amounts for that food. No no thank you.
Shannon says
It is crazy expensive but my husband and I went to this ringing in 2020 and it was the greatest New Years ever. So many great memories and so much fun! The only negative was we couldn’t get an Uber back to our resort because the wait was so long so we walked to the magic kingdom and rode a Disney bus, which made it a very late night since the crowds from the park were riding too. I might recommend leaving a little early to make sure you have a ride. But I’d still love to do it again!
FL-Dad says
Hmmmm… Paid $900+ for an Annual Pass. $700 for 5 HOURS? Nope. That’s $140/hr. I make good money, but not THAT good.
Margaret Zukoski says
Is this per person?????
Christine says
No way. I’m not spending $230 per person for this. $700 in total is outrageous. That’s almost twice the amount of the lowest tier Annual Pass. Not to mention, people on limited incomes can’t afford that.
DFB Sarah says
Margaret, oh, yes.
Margaret Zukoski says
It’s $700 person???? OMG.. NO Way! But some people will pay it! And as long as they do, Disney will keep charging these kinds of prices!
