Sometimes you can encounter unexpected waits in Disney World.
The buses can take longer than usual, wait times to get popular food can be really long, or the checkout line in stores can take up a lot of your time. Today, there was an unexpectedly long line over at Magic Kingdom!
Guest Services outside of Magic Kingdom has a long line backed up all the way into the walkway that goes to Disney’s Contemporary Resort!
When we asked a Cast Member around 12:30PM, they said the line is about 2 hours long — yikes! That’s a long time to wait in the hot sun.
Thankfully, Cast Members were handing out free water bottles to people waiting in line.
We’re not sure why the wait is currently so long to speak to Guest Services. Park passes have been completely booked for Magic Kingdom today, so that might have something to do with the long line.
We’ll keep an eye on the situation, so stay tuned to DFB for updates!

I saw this the week of Dec 6th. Majority of people in line were saying their park passes were not assigned correctly to individuals in their party. This happened to us while at Hollywood Studios. Had to wait 45 mins before getting into the park.

What time does guest services open? We have military tickets that need to be verified first day and last time we went January 2020 there was a small boothe like structure separate from guest services where we checked in. Is this still there? Would be awful to wait 2 hours just to prove status

Yiiikes. Disney really needs to hire more people. Which starts with paying them liveable wages and offering the best benefits. I really feel like they just gave up.

We saw a long line like that last week the day the world had that Internet problem. We had taken the monorail from Epcot on our way to a late lunch at Steakhouse 71. We had to take the Ferry over and then walk to the Contemporary. On that walk we saw an incredibly long line. We were still trying to understand what all was happening that day and we didn’t really know why that line was so long.

When was this? What will it be like at end of Feb. Whenshould you arrive at park, so not to have a line? Thanks

Paula, this was a line outside the Park entrance and it was for Guest Services. We do not see this regularly, and it would only impact folks who had trouble with a ticket or Disney Park Pass Reservation. Unfortunately we don’t have more info than that, but it’s not a regular occurrence that we’ve seen.

The resort has been crazy this week. I know it’s the holidays but there’s usually a break for a week between thanksgiving and Christmas. Not this year. Crowds are crazy. Management seems to be off their game. It all seems off.

I saw HUGE lines at GS in all parks the whole time I was there. This WAS just a few weeks after G+ debuted, so that might be why. I’d guess a huuuuuge chunk of these people were having issues we it’s that or didn’t realize they needed park reservations or something. I’m a longtime park goer and even I was finding it tough. Regular one-time guests would have a heck of a time.

I just returned home today after a week at WDW. We went to Mk the first and last day of the trip. Thw Parks are as crowded as I have EVER seen them. wait times for Splash. Thunder and Space all exceeded 90 minutes all day long. & Dwarfs had times up to 125 minutes. Peter Pan was the normal 85 minutes. The longest wait was Jingle Cruise we waited over 2 hours although the sign said 90 minutes. The Lightning lanes have cause SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many problems. It seemed like 50 lightning lane people to every 10 standby guests making the wait time far longer than what is posted for the rides. Rise in HS was broke down more that it was up and running. Like Ratatounie in Epcot which we boarded twice only to have the ride break down within 3 minutes of boarding. Worst of all I paid the 9 dollard per person to ride it and never got to ride the attraction. Disney is really lacking in the Lightning Lane and the new trackless attractions. Minnie and Mickeys RR in Holloywood was also broke down more than it was running. We got to the door and stuck it out for 90 minutes while waiting for it to reopen. I never saw cast members giving out water and the temps were in the mid 80’s almost our entire trip. I did see lines to MK going all the way back to the Contempory for the after hour party which has more than doubled the 100 doolar rate and is now 269.00. With less hours. Less benifits and higher prices.
