Disney+ has a TON of content on it for everyone to enjoy.
It has classic animated movies like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pixar favorites like Toy Story, most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all of the Star Wars movies, and even educational shows like those found on National Geographic. Some of these shows and movies are just better enjoyed when watched with others, so luckily, you can now watch your favorite Disney+ content with a LOT of people thanks to a new feature!
You can now watch Disney+ TV shows and movies with friends and family through FaceTime video chat thanks to Apple SharePlay, according to Variety. With support from SharePlay, Disney+ subscribers with an iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV can watch content together with up to 32 other people, as long as they are all Disney+ subscribers.
Disney+ added the GroupWatch in-app feature last year, which lets people watch content together as long as they’re in the same country. According to Variety, this feature will still be available, but it only allows for 7 people or 4 streams from the same account.
The Disney+ SharePlay feature is available around the world for all Disney+ content, from Marvel to Star Wars to National Geographic. Apple just announced SharePlay this summer, which also works with Apple’s own apps and services like Apple TV and Apple Music.
According to Variety, the Executive Vice President of product and design for Disney Streaming, Jerrell Jimerson said in a statement that “SharePlay provides another opportunity for personal friends and family around the world to come together and create new memories with their favorite stories on Disney Plus.”
