Disney World recently launched their Genie planning program through the My Disney Experience app.
It can help you plan out your day in Disney World for free! Also launched was the new system that has replaced FastPass — Genie+. This is a paid system that allows you access to the Lightning Lanes (old FastPass lanes) of 46 attractions. There are also high demand rides not included with Genie+ that you can pay for individually to use the Lightning Lanes and skip the standby lines. We’ve been using and experimenting with this system since it launched in October, but things are about to CHANGE!
From December 19th, 2021 through January 3rd, 2022, some rides will no longer be available as Individual Attraction Selections (pay-per-ride), but will instead be INCLUDED in Genie+! Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom, Frozen Ever After in EPCOT, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Hollywood Studios, and Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom will ALL now be included with Genie+!
WOW! So 4 rides that you would have had to pay to use the Lightning Lane for individually will now be included with the rides that you can access with that $15 per day, per person you pay for Genie+. This means the ONLY rides that will be a part of the pay-per-ride system are Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT, Rise of the Resistance in Hollywood Studios, and Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom.
Disney also just announced that they’re extending Early Theme Park Entry, so you will now get more time in the parks if you’re staying on property! We’ll be on the lookout for any more changes and keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

They are finally getting frightened of the public that they are fleecing. Knowledge is power.

No moderation forthcoming. The perception that you are becoming more afraid of Disney by the minute is revealed clearly by your responses to my comments as you block them even if I simply just type hello. Maybe you should worry about a

well surprise surprise as soon as we are over and gone from our 1 week trip now Disney changes up LL an Genie…….as far as my opinion goes this all never should of started until AFTER the New Year….many people incl my family had this trip planned a yr ago when we never knew changes would come….to have put in these new changes at one of the most crowded times of the year is crazy crazy…..not all of us are tech savy an wanted to spend days walking with phones in our faces….i once again just wish they had waited for all the changes to come after the New Year…..m/o…..Merry CHristmas……

And this is supposed to get what kind of reaction from us? Joy? Is this supposed to make Disney sound generous for “graciously” adding something to their lousy new system which used to be free and less restrictive before? Give me a break.

One can only hope that these changes are permanent, along the 60 minute early entry for resort guests. I would be happy if they raised the price for Genie+ to $20-$25 a day and included ALL rides. It would make it far less confusing and Disney still would make money. And there should be some perks for staying at a Disney resort! 30 minutes is barely long enough to get in the park and go on one ride.

Good. Hopefully the message on the chat will go away soon. “Due to the overwhelming popularity of Genie +”

This new system is terrible. I was only able to ride one ride and then a 4 hour break for a second ride. Terrible I went and asked for a refund. I think this is just a money grab and I would much rather go into it knowing I’m getting robbed. Atleast at universal you know there is an option that u pay one set price to ride all the rides or you wait on the lines. Disney makes you feel like they are giving you options but they are not.
