One of Disney’s time-honored traditions for this holiday season is the Christmas Day Special, which airs on ABC at 10AM ET and 9AM CT/PT on Christmas morning. The special, called the “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade,” features musical performances, behind-the-scenes looks at some current Disney projects, and lots of holiday cheer. Now, you can get a sneak peek at how the magic is made to bring the Christmas Day Special to life.

Disney works on the Christmas special for a while before it airs on Christmas Day. We’ve seen some of the behind-the-scenes action already, including filming for some of the musical performances and a production set for the Disney World hosts, Derek Hough and Julianne Hough.

This morning, the Disney parks released a short video about the making of the Christmas Day Special. It shows some of the production work that goes into this event and also makes us VERY excited to see the finished product.

Kristin Chenoweth – “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”
Chance the Rapper – “Who’s to Say”
Darren Criss – “Christmas Dance”
Meg Donnelly – “Jingle Bell Rock”
Brett Eldredge – “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”
Norah Jones – “Run Rudolph Run”
Pentatonix – “I Saw Three Ships”
Gwen Stefani – “Cheer for the Elves”

Derek Hough and Julianne Hough will host the event from Disney World, and Trevor Jackson and Sherry Cola will host from Disneyland Resort.
