HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Alright, alright, we’re a little early. But next week, we say goodbye to 2021 and helloooooo to 2022. If you’re ringing in the New Year in Disney World this year, then you might want to check out our FULL UPDATE on next week’s weather!
Weather Forecast
According to The Weather Channel, this week brings us hot days, mild nights, and rainless skies! That’s some pretty classic Florida winter weather to welcome us into 2022.
Last week, we saw a little bit of rain so we’re excited to see those rain changes staying low next week. Let’s take a look at the predictions so you’re ready for your New Year’s week trip!
December 27th
Monday, December 27th will start the week with temperatures that are pretty consistent with what we’ve been seeing. The week starts out hot during the day and cooler at night.
There’s a VERY slight chance of rain in the forecast on Monday but this should be a mostly dry week. You might just need to dodge the odd shower towards the end of the week. As always, a raincoat never hurts in Orlando!
December 28th
The next day, December 28th brings us a similar forecast with pretty warm temperatures during the day! 82 degrees might be a LOT hotter than you’re used to at home this time of year.
You’ll notice there is a DRASTIC drop in temperatures to the low. That’s a full 20-degree difference between the high and the low! It might be a good idea to pack a layer in case you get a little chilly once it’s nighttime. 62 degrees might feel a little cooler than you expect!
December 29th
On Wednesday, December 29th, we’re going to see temps fluctuate just a little bit again — but not too much. So, we’ll be seeing mid-80s heat at the hottest part of the day. Your low is gonna hang out at 64 degrees.
For most of the week, we should see a nice mix of clouds and sun. Hopefully, that means we’ll have beautiful days without it being too bright.
December 30th
For Thursday, December 30th, we’re seeing almost exactly the same temperatures in the mid-80s and an evening at 65 degrees. Wow! That’s a comfy night!
Check out the high humidity this week! That can make the heat feel hotter and a chill feel colder! Prep to be a little less comfortable than you’d expect from these temperatures.
December 31st
The week continues with a little drop in temperature in the day and a consistent nighttime on December 31st. Good thing these temperatures are comfy since you’ll be counting down to midnight!
65 degrees might not seem chilly depending on where you’re coming from. But, if you’ve been wearing short sleeves and shorts in 80 degrees all day, you might be surprised how cool that 60 degrees feels!
January 1st
Saturday, January 1st brings us more consistent temperatures and a slightly higher rain chance. Still, it looks like the first day of 2022 is going to be a BEAUTIFUL one for Orlando.
Keep in mind that days are shorter this time of year. Days this week tend to start around 7:15AM and that sun sets around 5:40PM.
January 2nd
And we’ll wrap up our week on January 2nd with still comfy temperatures and a beautiful day of mixed sunshine and clouds. The day will still be warm at almost 80 degrees, but get ready for another low-60s night.
This day also has the highest rain chance of the week. As of now, it looks like we’ll stay dry. Don’t forget to keep checking the forecast for changes, though!

Tips for Weathering the Weather!
So, what are our best tips for packing when it comes to this week’s forecast?
Pack those layers!
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. Layering is the KEY to staying comfy during the cooler seasons in Florida. Orlando has a tendency to slingshot between HOT temperatures during the days and surprisingly chilly temperatures at night.
If you wear one layer, you’re likely to be uncomfortable during one part of the day. Bring a scarf or light jacket to toss on once those temperatures drop so that you can stay comfy whether the sun is shining or you’re watching the fireworks in 60 degrees!

Stay healthy!
Now, those evenings might be perfect but we’re still looking at hot and sunny days — and the Florida sun can be INTENSE. We want to make sure you’re feeling comfy and SAFE when you’re walking actual miles in the heat.
Make sure you apply sunscreen and reapply often, take breaks when you need them, and drink a LOT of water. You might not be used to the level of activity that a Disney day requires, so make sure you’re listening to what your body needs.
