Guess what? Celebrities are sometimes just like us and they love Disney World, too!
And this is why you can often see celebrities hanging out in the parks, whether they’re there in an official capacity, or just having fun with family and friends, or celebrating a special occasion. But if you want to go celebrity spotting at Disney World, there are certain times you just might spot them!
So here are the best times to spot celebrities at Disney World!
Candlelight Processional
If you visit EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays, you’re BOUND to see a celebrity during the Candlelight Processional because they are who Disney chooses to narrate the event! For example, in the past, we’ve seen Neil Patrick Harris, and most recently saw AuliÊ»i Cravalho — the voice of Moana!
And sometimes, you might even catch them outside of the festival activity — sometimes the celebrities just want to spend a little time hanging around EPCOT before and after the Processional, too.

During Filming of Specials
Throughout the year, Disney films specials for both Disney+ and ABC, and these specials almost ALWAYS feature celebrities. Most recently, we saw Broadway legend Kristin Chenoweth performing for an upcoming ABC special — how cool is that?
We also recently spotted Dancing With The Stars’ Derek and Julianne Hough filming for the Disney Christmas Day Parade So if you can get your hands on some information about Disney’s schedule for filming specials at Disney World, you know when to see celebrities there!

Special Events
Another great time to see celebrities is during special events. When Cirque du Soleil recently opened its Drawn To Life show, John Stamos was on-hand to introduce it.
And Christina Aguilera performed the kick-off to Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration!
During Festivals
EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional isn’t the only place to spot celebrities at a festival, though. Many of EPCOT’s festivals feature live entertainment. For example, the EPCOT Festival of the Arts holds a Disney on Broadway Concert Series, where you can see live performances by some of Broadway’s hottest stars.
And although it hasn’t happened over the past two years, the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival often hosts the Eat To The Beat concert series, featuring some of the hottest musical acts over the past few decades, like Sugar Ray, Boyz II Men, Hanson, and more!

When A Movie Is Filming Near Orlando
It doesn’t always happen, but sometimes there’s a movie filming near Orlando, and some of its stars might decide to take a trip over to Disney World, since — you know — it’s right there, and who doesn’t want to go to Disney World?
So if you happen to hear about filming in the area, keep an eye out when you’re in the parks — you’ll never know who you might see! This also happens when musicians and performers are in town for a show — they’ll often go to Disney World before or after!

During A Ride Or New Land Opening
You can guarantee Disney World will bring in celebrities for a ride or land opening. Avatar director and producer James Cameron was there for the opening of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. And when Star Tours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was updated in 2011, George Lucas, Anthony Daniels, Dave Filoni, Ashley Eckstein, James Arnold Taylor, and Daniel Logan all came to the event, according to our friends over at AllEars.net!
We can imagine that next year’s opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT will be star-studded with the cast from the Marvel films, and we can’t wait to see who shows up when TRON Lightcycle Run opens at Magic Kingdom!

On Celebrity’s Birthdays
Celebrities love celebrating their birthdays at Disney World, and we’ve seen many instances of celebrities posting photos of them doing just that on social media. So if you happen to know a celebrity’s birthday and know they love Disney, you should probably keep an eye out for them, just in case.
Of course, some celebrities go so far as to rent out entire parks for birthday celebrations, and those are, unfortunately, events where Disney World’s usual guests aren’t invited.
