In the past few weeks, we’ve gotten used to seeing some HUGE crowds in Disney World!
The holiday season is typically super busy in Disney World, and the parks have definitely been noticeably people-y in recent weeks. But even though it’s been busy overall, we did notice a few surprisingly empty places in Disney’s Hollywood Studios yesterday. And that trend continued in another park today!
We headed out to EPCOT this morning to see how things are looking now that the holidays have officially passed.
The park opened at 9:30AM this morning and we headed right to World Showcase to check out the pavilions post-holiday. And we were shocked (and a little delighted, honestly) to find that most of the pavilions were nearly EMPTY!
As expected, there was somewhat of a crowd in Norway, with people lined up to ride Frozen Ever After. But once we made our way through to the China Pavilion, we found more deserted space!
By the time we made our way around to the Germany Pavilion, the park had been open for about an hour, but there were still hardly any guests to be found.
Not even the delicious smells coming from our beloved Karamell-Küche was enough to bring in a crowd!
There is still some holiday decor up, like the Christmas tree in the American Adventure Pavilion. But it looks pretty lonely there without any guests to admire it!
It was a perfect morning to check out the details in each of the pavilions and take plenty of pictures with the limited crowds!
Can you guess which pavilion was actually fairly busy this morning, while the rest of the World Showcase was empty? If you said the France Pavilion, you’re a winner!
We’ll continue to be on the lookout for updates at each of the Disney World parks now that the holiday season is over, so stay tuned to DFB for all the latest news!

It’s possible that all the cancelled flights had something to do with it.

Disney may have jumped the shark here. It is well known that Epcot is an older audience, and once you take out all the kids and younger adults, and add that the the older generation that Disney has scared away with the huge crowds and high prices and viola… you end up with this. I was in Epcot last month and I was very disappointed. With all the construction going on, the closed attractions, the higher prices from the minute you walk thru the gate to the minute you leave, and the long, long, long walk from the parking lot…(trams not running) you can see that they are loosing their core Epcot audience, Seniors. I loved Epcot, but I doubt I will return soon and I have an annual pass. Too bad Disney, you are loosing me to a hotel stay and a water park visit with my DVC membership that is becoming less and less valuable with each passing month.
