Although it’s been almost two years since Disney World reopened, many of the resort’s entertainment options still haven’t returned.
But we’ve seen entertainment gradually being reintroduced into the parks, with the return of some adjusted shows like A Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King, the daytime Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade, and the Candlelight Processional during EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays. And this weekend, we saw a fan-favorite entertainment group back at Disney World!
This weekend is a runDisney marathon weekend at Disney World with The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. During the marathon, we saw the Citizens of Hollywood at Disney’s Hollywood Studios doing their thing and cheering on runners!
We haven’t seen the Citizens in a LONG time, since Disney World’s closure. And back in October 2020, we received news that some of the Cast Members in the group had been laid off. But they were back this weekend in full form with their fun antics! Hooray For Hollywood!
For those who have not yet seen the Citizens of Hollywood, they’re a live street performing group of entertainers at Hollywood Studios — they show up throughout the park with their unique brand of comedic entertainment that often includes pulling guests into the act. But today, they were cheering on the runDisney participants as they ran by. WHAT a way to pump up guests!!!
Even though they have NOT been confirmed to return full-time, we really enjoyed seeing them this weekend — they have SORELY been missed!

Once they were gone, though, we noticed they had left their mark for guests to see all day long IN CHALK. Yes, this warms our heart! WE’RE NOT CRYING, YOU’RE CRYING.

Each Citizen signed the sidewalk, and we’re pretty sure these are now our new favorite walk of fame additions to Hollywood Studios! There’s Cattie McDonald…
…Ace Victory…
…Paige Turner…
…and Betty Shambles. Thanks, Citizens for making our DAY! We hope to see you again soon!
Stay tuned because we’ll let you know if we see them again and learn more about them returning to Disney World!

Love these guys and gals! What’s the name of the megaphone-equipped Hollywood movie director who had a terrific rapid-fire banter with guests? One of his phrases when someone gave a hesitant answer was “LIAR!”? We talked with him years before covid and would enjoy renewing the acquaintance.
