Disney Cruise Line has been updating their health and safety procedures since cruising resumed after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Perhaps the biggest update came when Disney Cruise Line began requiring that all guests who are vaccine eligible based on age be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to sail.
Back in November, the CDC approved the use of the COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 and up. In response to this updated guidance, Disney Cruise Line adjusted their vaccine policy to include this age group. At the time, Disney announced that their latest vaccine requirements would go into effect on January 13th.
That means that as of today, January 13th, all guests who are vaccine eligible based on age (which as of this writing is ages 5 and up) must now be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of sailing. The Disney Cruise Line website now reflects this change.
You can visit the Disney Cruise Line website or check out the image below to review their definition of “fully vaccinated.”
Before today, guests ages 5 through 11 could “provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken between 3 days and 24 hours of their sail date” instead of providing proof of vaccination. However, a negative COVID-19 test will no longer be sufficient for this age group, and guests ages 5 through 11 must now be fully vaccinated, along with all guests ages 12 and above. Guests ages 4 and younger will still need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test for all upcoming cruises.
We’ll continue to keep a close watch on the latest health and safety measurements from Disney Cruise Line. If you have an upcoming sailing, be sure to follow along to keep with all of the news and announcements.

I really hope to see DCL to the way of Dream Cruises. The changes D is making are disgusting and fear and money driven.
Glub glub glub. DCL falls pretty low on the market list.
What other reason could D give to change our feelings from lovin’ it to absolutely despising it?

What a shame, it’s not going to make a difference.

Requiring vaccines doesn’t stop the spread of covid. The cruise industry has proved this, without a doubt . Proof of vaccination is required, yet there have been countless covid outbreaks on cruises . THE VACCINATED ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE ON THESE SHIPS. DFB just had a story last week about covid outbreaks on cruise ships . It’s time to finally admit that vaccinations aren’t stopping the spread.

What about kids from countries that aren’t vaccinating under 12s? Any word on the rules there?
