Over the past several months we’ve seen a number of restaurants and hotels reopen and other experiences return to Disney World.
But select dining spots have not yet reopened or have been serving slightly modified meals. Well now Disney has shared some BIG news about restaurant re-openings, returning buffets, and other dining info!
Today Disney announced that several restaurants will be reopening soon in Disney World and many will be serving NEW dishes! Disney has also shared that some buffets will be coming back! Here’s what you need to know:
Flying Fish
First, over at Disney’s BoardWalk, Flying Fish will be reopening on January 27th! Guests will get to enjoy all kinds of signature seafood dishes here, as well as steak offerings and some new treats. So far Disney has shared that guests will get to munch on the Seafood Pearl Pasta as an entree at this spot. This dish will feature shrimp, lobster, scallops, clams, and mussels. There will also be Plancha-seared Scallops, which comes with grits, sweet corn, and Peppadew emulsion.
And if you’re ready for dessert the Cocoa Breach will be back, which in the past has featured Vanilla Custard, Milk Chocolate Bavarois, and Feuilletine Crunch.
The Turf Club Bar and Grill
Next, over at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, The Turf Club Bar and Grill will be reopening on February 3rd. Guests will be able to enjoy various dishes at this spot including the new New York Cider-braised Mussels appetizer which is “flavored with garlic, chorizo, fennel, Fresno chili, and apple cider topped with a grilled baguette.”
Some new entrees will also join the lineup including The Grilled Pork Chop and Braised Lamb Tagliatelle. And you can end your meal with a dessert, like the new New York Cheesecake.
Jiko — The Cooking Place
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jiko — The Cooking Place is set to reopen on February 17th!
You can read more about that here.
Cape May Cafe
Though Cape May Cafe is already open at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, some BIG changes will be coming to this spot soon!
Starting on February 15th the all-you-care-to-enjoy breakfast buffet will be BACK at this spot. There will be pull-apart bread with vanilla sauce, beef hash, an omelet station, Mickey and Minnie waffles, and more!
And the buffet fun doesn’t stop at breakfast. Dinner will also go back to a buffet service starting on February 15th. The buffet will feature “cornbread, seasonal harvest salad, seafood boil, a daily carving station,” and more!
But note that crab legs and select other items will be an additional charge. Specifically, Disney has said guests will be able to “upgrade” their meals to include “snow crab legs or even a whole lobster, both purchased by the pound.”
Ale & Compass Restaurant
Finally, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Ale & Compass Restaurant will start serving lunch again on January 31st. On that date, some returning breakfast options will be back as well. Specifically, Disney has noted that guests will be able to “enhance” their breakfast experience with buffet items which will make great additions to the entree of their choice. The buffet will include “pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt parfaits, overnight oats, and house-made cheddar biscuits with country gravy.”
Reservations for these spots all open up on January 20th so be sure to mark your calendars! We’ll keep an eye out for more Disney news.

Madelyn says
Still waiting for afternoon tea at the GF – any news about when that will return?
DFB Sarah says
Madelyn, still no Disney announcements on this, unfortunately.
DFB Sarah says
Lisa, unfortunately Disney has not yet said when it will return.
Teri says
do we think Cape May breakfast will have characters again? and I’m assuming costs will be forthcoming too.
DFB Gigi says
Hi Teri! We also love to see the characters in dining experiences, however Disney has not yet released information on when all of the character dining will return. For now, there are a few places that are offering a distanced character meet and greet, but we will update our readers as soon as Disney makes an announcement for Cape May!
Howard Randall Poole says
How about Marrakesh? Although most folks (including DFB) don’t like it, Marrakesh is one of our favorites, especially the vegetarian couscous. And you can usually get a table w/o reservations.
Al says
I am wondering about parking for Cape May Cafe. We are staying at Fort Wilderness. Where would we park if we wanted to go to Cape May Cafe and then walk to Epcot?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Al, if you have a reservation for Cape May you are allowed to park in the resort parking lot for a maximum of 3 hours, but your best bet might be to park at Epcot and take one of the Friendship Boats over to the Beach Club.
