Spaceship Earth Is Getting a Muppets-Inspired Look for the EPCOT Festival of the Arts 🌈

We are LIVE at the 2022 EPCOT Festival of the Arts, and whew — it’s been a lot of work — AND a lot of fun.

We’re at the EPCOT Festival of the Arts!

And while we’re busy getting you food reviews of EVERY SINGLE food booth, we’re also covering the merchandise, entertainment, and more while we’re there. But we just found out about something BEAUTIFUL coming to the festival this year.

Imagineer Zach Riddley took to Instagram to share that Spaceship Earth will be celebrating the festival in its own magical way — it’s going to light up like a rainbow during festival nights! He wrote, “Spaceship Earth will debut a brand-new light show that will feature our color and rainbow motifs seen throughout the festival imagery.” Now look at how beautiful it’s going to be!

And that’s not all — the rainbow light show will be accompanied by The Muppets’ “Rainbow Connection” — okay, WE ARE SO GOING TO CRY. Now sing along with us: “Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection. The lovers, the dreamers and me…” 😭😭😭

He also wrote, “A huge congratulations to our team of Imagineers for dreaming this up and bringing it to life for our Guests and fans of The Muppets to enjoy nightly throughout the duration of the festival!” And here’s a look at Spaceship Earth in all of its rainbow beauty!

RAINBOW Spaceship Earth!

The colors of the rainbow spread across Spaceship Earth in one bold stripe:

Like the variations we’ve seen in the past, Spaceship Earth rotates through several different light and color patterns.

Stunning as always.

Just when we thought it couldn’t get any MORE perfect, we were blown away once again.

WOW. 10 out of 10.

Figment approves of the new rainbow light pattern, too.

This is exactly why we’ve been so excited about the new lighting on Spaceship Earth — it’s so cool that Imagineers can change it at any time and for special occasions like the festival! We’re not sure if this will completely replace the Beacons of Magic lighting scheme or not, but we’ll keep you updated once we’ve seen the new lighting for ourselves.
