Disney is constantly working on their rides and attractions, which means that those rides and attractions will sometimes close for refurbishments.
If you’re heading into Disney World soon, make sure you know which rides, hotels, pools, and other attractions will be unavailable during your trip! Knowing what will be closed can save you some unhappy surprises during your vacation. Here’s a look at everything that’s scheduled to be closed in Disney World next week.
Magic Kingdom
Splash Mountain
Splash Mountain has temporarily closed for refurbishments, which include scheduled maintenance on this ride (so don’t get excited for the new Princess and the Frog changes just yet).
This popular ride will reopen on February 11th, 2022.
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World Railroad is still closed, and this closure has gone on for a WHILE.
Part of the reason for its closure is refurbishments on the ride itself, but construction in Tomorrowland on the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run ride has made it impossible for the train to get through that section of tracks.
We don’t have an end date for that construction, so we’re not sure yet when the railroad might reopen.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Expedition Everest
Expedition Everest is still closed for its refurbishment in Animal Kingdom. This refurbishment will last for a few more months.
Disney has not announced an official opening date for this coaster yet, but it’s supposed to return sometime in April 2022.
In the meantime, you can head to other Animal Kingdom attractions like Avatar: Flight of Passage, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and DINOSAUR.
Finding Nemo: The Musical
Finding Nemo: The Musical is also closed in Animal Kingdom. A reimagined version of this show will return sometime in 2022, and it’ll be called Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!
The classic show will get a few major changes with the reimagining. It is now going to be based on the timeline from Finding Dory, although it will keep some fan-favorite songs from the original show such as “Go With the Flow.”

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
The Voyage of the Little Mermaid show is still closed in Hollywood Studios, and it doesn’t have a reopening date yet.
For all the Ariel fans out there, the Journey of the Little Mermaid ride is still open in Magic Kingdom!
Fantasmic!
The nighttime show Fantasmic! has not yet returned, but we at least have a hint at when it’ll be back. This show is scheduled to return in 2022.
When it does return, you’ll see some changes such as new stunts and characters.

EPCOT
Souk-al-Magreb
The gift shop in EPCOT’s Morocco pavilion at World Showcase is called Souk-al-Magreb, and it’s been closed for a few months now.
You’ll be able to get Moroccan-inspired souvenirs soon, though, because it’s scheduled to open its doors again on February 6th, 2022.

Disney World Hotels
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
All of the Disney World hotels have reopened except for one: Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. But if this is your favorite Disney hotel, don’t worry! It’s reopening soon, on March 31st, 2022.
You can make reservations now for your stay.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Some of the DVC Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are closed right now for a few refurbishments.
Disney is adding new pull-out beds to these rooms so that more guests can fit into the rooms.
Disney World Hotel Pools
A couple of Disney World hotel pools are being refurbished right now, so they are unavailable to guests. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Samawati Springs Pool (at Kidani Village) is currently unavailable and will be closed through April 2022.
Guests at the Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village can head over to the Jambo House area to use the Uzima Springs Pool instead.
The Flippin’ Fins Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort (in the Little Mermaid section) is currently closed, and it will remain closed through late February of this year.
If you’re staying at this hotel, you can use the Big Blue Pool (in the Finding Nemo section) or the Cozy Cone Pool (in the Cars section), which have both remained open.

Disney World Water Parks
Blizzard Beach is still closed in Disney World, but you can always head to Typhoon Lagoon instead if you want to experience a Disney World water park.
Blizzard Beach does not have a reopening date yet, but we’ll keep an eye out for more updates.

Disney World Transportation
Skyliner
Some parts of the Disney Skyliner will be closing for a brief refurbishment from January 23rd through the 28th.
Disney has said that the “Disney Skyliner service between Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort and EPCOT will be out of operation due to refurbishment.”
So it sounds like you’ll still be able to ride the Skyliner on the route to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which includes the following resorts: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
For the routes that will be closed during the refurbishment, Disney will provide alternate transportation in the form of buses or FriendShip boats.
