We’re pretty much professional Disney treat eaters here at Disney Food Blog, but even we had to admit defeat with the latest confection we found.
Sometimes Disney goes all-out with their treats in terms of flavor or quality. Kakamora DOLE Whip Float? Incredible flavors. A slice of ‘za at Via Napoli? Very high-quality ingredients. And then sometimes Disney takes it to a whole other level and just plain goes all out. You’ll see what we mean.
Remember the Kitchen Sink Sundae at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop in Disney World? This treat is a monstrous sundae with tons of ice cream and toppings. It’s got a little bit of everything — including the kitchen sink.
Well, we just found out that it’s got some competition! We were at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort when we spotted a very intriguing menu item.
At the World Premiere Food Court, we headed over to the ice cream counter, which is where we spotted the plaque announcing “The Director’s Cup” (’cause we’re at All-Star Movies, get it?). Note that when we bought this treat, it rang up as the “Golden Globe Sundae.” So apparently it’s got a couple of names.
This treat is a large plastic cup that’s filled with four scoops of ice cream, some brownie bites, chocolate chip cookies, strawberry sauce, hot fudge sauce, caramel, whipped cream, sprinkles, and cherries. WHEW!
We ordered this treat (of course we did) and the lovely Cast Member began assembling it for us.
You can choose which four flavors of ice cream go in your sundae from the flavors list on the counter.
We went with strawberry, chocolate, mint chocolate chip, and cookies ‘n’ cream. The cookie that goes on top of the sundae is one large cookie that’s broken into pieces. We got the choice of a chocolate chip or M&M cookie, and we went with the classic choco chip. Here’s a shot of the sundae in progress…
…and here it is when it’s finished! Thank you very much to Cast Member Shirley, who made it look so beautiful for us!
All we can say right now is WOW.
It’s so colorful, and there is just so much going on here! When you dig into this sundae, you might just be hitting toppings for the first few (dozen) bites. There’s a lot of ice cream in there, but it’s all buried by brownies, cookies, whipped cream, and more.
Shirley gave us EVERY topping at the ice cream bar (except for the holiday sprinkles, which are for a different dessert), so our sundae was certainly not lacking when it comes to sugar.
This is what Mary Berry would call a “Showstopper.” (Any other Great British Baking Show fans out there??)
Overall, this is just a really fun treat. The ice cream and toppings were all delicious, although none of the individual flavors were super mind-blowing. But it’s really more about the scale of this dessert, and everything tasted good. There wasn’t anything bad about it, except that we think we’ll have a brain freeze and sugar rush simultaneously for about a month. But honestly — worth it.
It’s also a plus that this dessert comes with the souvenir cup, so it’s a fun reminder about that time you ate a HUGE sundae in Disney World.
The menu said that this dessert feeds up to two people (UP TO two people? So possibly just one person?), but we thought it could pretty easily satisfy four people at least. And it’s such a fun treat for kids especially! You can head to World Premiere Food Court to get one for $18.99.
That’s an especially good deal when you consider that the Kitchen Sink Sundae at Beaches & Cream is $35. That one is a bit bigger (the menu says it’ll feed 4 people, which we’ve learned is a conservative guess), but we thought the experience of eating these two sundaes was pretty similar: overwhelming, sweet, and delicious.

Interesting, but it needs more ice cream and the ingredients need to be broken up. Do you get to keep the serving cup for 18.99?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Ken! You do get to keep the souvenir cup the ice cream is served in. 🙂

Is the melted peanut butter (sauce) option like on the No Way Jose at Beaches in Cream available here? What about at any other locations in the parks? Thanks!
