🚨 THIS IS A RED ALERT FOR ALL BUFFET FANS! 🚨
Cape May Cafe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort reopened last year, but it came back with some changes! Instead of offering a buffet for breakfast and dinner, it switched to a family-style menu. But that is OVER. Earlier today the buffet service here returned for breakfast, and now it’s back for dinner too. We know what you’re wondering — what about the crab legs?! Well, today we stopped by to see what it’s like! Let’s dive in!
Atmosphere
Not much has changed here since it reopened last year as far as atmosphere goes (except the buffet line is backkk!), but we’re just as pumped to be back.
We checked in for our reservation and then waited for our party to be called inside.
Buffet
On the buffet, there are a variety of Cape May Cafe favorites, including everything from seafood to salad, and there’s even a carving station!
The menu online notes that the price is $42 per adult (plus tax and gratuity) and $25 per child (plus tax and gratuity). It also lists some of the items you can find on the buffet, but let’s really take you through it!
First, you’ll want to grab a plate.
Then it’s time to grab your food! Hope you’re hungry!

You’ll also find some salad to add some veggies to your plate.
We also spotted some mashed potatoes…
…broccoli and chicken…
…seafood pasta salad…
…peel and eat shrimp…
…clams and mussels…
…pizza…
…and some roasted beef at the carving station!
There was also a vegetable soup, corn chowder, and some other items.
When it comes to dessert, the Oreo Bon Bons are BACK! YES!
There were also cookies…
…bread pudding…
…a 50th Anniversary Boston Cream Tart, Lemon Curd…
…and other sweets!
Here’s another walk along the buffet line!

The “catch of the day” was salmon, and there were some other items along the buffet line, including corn, which you can see in our plate below.

And what about the big question that is probably on your mind — ARE THERE ENDLESS CRAB LEGS?! This used to be a staple at Cape May Cafe. Well crab legs are available, but they’re not unlimited.
Disney previously indicated that guests could “upgrade” their meals to include “snow crab legs or a whole lobster, both purchased by the pound.” For the crab legs specifically, it is $29.99 for a pound. We’ll be asking about the lobster to get more info on that!

Horrible!! I should show you the pictures I have from 5 years ago.. the salad buffet alone was worth the price! So many different and interesting salads! And unlimited crab legs! This buffet looks just awful. It used to be our absolute favorite but we will not be going back. It makes me soooo sad and mad! Why do they have to ruin literally everything???

that buffet looks about as sad as you can get….

The last time we ate here was in 2018. The quality was so poor compared to previous years that part of my group said never again. Was wondering if they’ve improved by now… doesn’t look like it 🙁
