Crowds have been weirdly high in Disney World this January and February — a time that is normally known as the “slow” season — and it doesn’t look like things are going to calm down any time soon!
We saw a ton of people in the parks in late January and pretty consistently throughout February so far. There was even a day where it took us twice as long just to get inside Magic Kingdom. The wait times have also remained high for this time of year. And, since Presidents’ Day Weekend is kicking off today, there are a TON of people in the parks.
Long weekends are usually more crowded than normal weekends in Disney World, but this weekend might be even busier than normal due to a major athletic tournament taking place on property. ESPN Wide World of Sports is hosting the Disney Presidents’ Day Soccer Tournament, so all of the teams and their families are in town and may be visiting the parks at some point.

Park Pass Reservations are filled up for the whole weekend for regular theme park ticket holders…
…hotel guests…
…and Annual Passholders.
So, what does it look like in the parks? Well, we’ll show you, but we’re warning you now…it’s not pretty, folks!
Magic Kingdom
Starting in Magic Kingdom, we were met with the crowds before we could even get close to the park. We spent a while waiting in line just to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center. Then, we walked with a bunch of people to the TTC.
Once there, we saw the line for the Ferryboat.
Yup, it’s suuuuper long!
It’s a holiday weekend, and we’re seeing some crowds 👀 This is the ferry ⛴ line at the TTC. pic.twitter.com/YUWHwYTkGz

We got to the entrance of Magic Kingdom and were surprised that it didn’t look too crowded.
But, then we walked down Main Street, U.S.A. — which was PACKED.
Over in Tomorrowland, there was a big line for Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. LAUGH FLOOR, you guys! This attraction is not known for having long wait times usually. It was still only posted at a 30 minute wait though.
The lines for the other Tomorrowland attractions were just as bad. Space Mountain’s line started waaaay out into the walkways…
…and the line for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover was also very long.
Over in Fantasyland, it was just as crowded.
We noticed the Guest Services line over here was pretty long. This is a great time to remind everyone to be nice to Cast Members, especially on super busy days like today!
Over in Liberty Square, the crowds continued!
And, while there was a sea of people…

…we did hit weird pockets like this throughout the park that were mostly empty.
Now, let’s move on to Hollywood Studios.
Hollywood Studios
We got to Hollywood Studios and the crowds to get into the park were WILD.
This was half an hour after the park opened, y’all!
Meanwhile, over at Hollywood Studios 👀 This is 30 minutes after rope drop 😳 pic.twitter.com/F0hWIh3faE

There were people everywhere!
If you don’t like being around too many other humans, this is your nightmare.
Shout out to this guy still living his best life though!
Once inside, Hollywood Boulevard was just as busy.

We turned down Sunset Boulevard to check out the crowds.
And, no shocker here, it was busy.

The line for Tower of Terror was way down the boulevard…
…and so was the line for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster!
Time to turn around and check out how busy other areas of the park are.
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular canceled their 12PM show today, which is not good news for crowds, because that show can seat about 2,000 people, but instead, they’re out in the park.
We decided to head back to Galaxy’s Edge…
…where we saw that Rise of the Resistance was closed temporarily. This is another ride that can keep a lot of people in line! NOTE: As of 1:30PM, Rise is back open.
The stores were also pretty busy back here!
Okay, let’s go check out EPCOT!
EPCOT
Walking into the park didn’t seem too bad.
The entrance did seem a little crowded though, but definitely not as bad as over at Hollywood Studios!
It didn’t look like it was that busy over near Test Track, but then we saw the line, which was pretty long. As of 1:30PM, it was at an 85 minute wait.
Over in The Land pavilion, it was actually pretty chill!
We walked over to see what the line was like at Journey Into Imagination with Figment…
…and it was long, too. The ride was at a 30 minute wait as of 1:30PM, which is fairly high for Journey into Imagination.
In front of the Mexico pavilion is was very crowded. But, this area is known for being a bottleneck and typically can look quite busy.
The Germany pavilion was definitely busy, but it didn’t look as bad as the areas we saw in Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.
And, the same goes for the Italy pavilion!
We’ll be updating this post throughout the day with more crowd updates and pictures, so stay tuned to DFB for more!

Is there a way DFB could provide a list of major events and big conventions in Orlando for the current and future year to help plan trips around them?
Desert Dweller says
Bringing back Annual Passes ruined everything. CEO gets $34 million to make us miserable. Sucks that Disney doesn’t refund for cancellations or doesn’t allow transferring tickets to Disneyland. I hate Disney now. Apparently so many people still love it so are in my shoes and had to keep rescheduling due to the pandemic. We thought February would be less crowded. Wrong. Feb 28 is already sold out and that’s a week after Presidents Day already. Sigh…
