Does anything surprise you in Disney World anymore?
This week we saw ticket price increases, an updated mask mandate, and even the very short return of an epic popcorn bucket. Check out all the unexpected news from Disney World right here!
Ticket Price Increase
The price of your Disney World tickets can vary depending on a number of factors, including what time of the year you choose to visit, whether you buy a Park Hopper or not, and other things. We noticed this week that several multi-day ticket prices have increased in some instances, with price increases impacting both 1-park-per-day and park hopper tickets.
For example, instead of paying $105 per day for a 4-day 1-park-per-day ticket, the base price for this ticket is now listed as $106 per day, which over 4 days adds up to a $4 increase. And with the park hopper tickets, for example, a 10-day ticket has increased (in terms of starting price) from $62 to $64 per day, which is a $20 increase over 10 days.
But keep in mind that these are just STARTING prices. The actual cost of your tickets will vary. We also saw that some dates appear to have been placed in higher pricing tiers, making them more expensive.
If you’re planning to purchase Disney World tickets soon, you probably want to check out these increases and how they could impact your budget.

Moonlight Magic
Moonlight Magic events are special Disney Vacation Club (DVC) perks, and they’re finally coming back! Disney has announced the return of Moonlight Magic in EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. During these events, DVC Members can enjoy shorter wait times, special Disney character sightings, entertainment, and even complimentary treats.
So far, these events will take place on March 17th and 31st in EPCOT, in Hollywood Studios on May 24th, June 16th, and July 14th, and in Animal Kingdom on July 26th and August 31st. Registration will be opening up soon so keep an eye out for updates on that!

Mask Mandate
This week Disney announced that as of February 17th, face masks are no longer required in most places for fully vaccinated guests. Prior to this, face masks were required indoors for all guests, regardless of vaccination status. This change followed the changes made at Universal Orlando regarding their mask rules.
The updated mask rules are now in effect. Face coverings are still required (regardless of vaccination status) on enclosed forms of Disney transportation, such as the Disney Skyliner, buses, and monorails. And we’ve also seen them required in first aid locations.
Note that Disney’s new mask policy states that they “expect guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations.”

Figment Popcorn Bucket
The Figment Popcorn Bucket made a triumphant (though short) return to EPCOT this week, and it didn’t take anyone hours of waiting in line, because Disney World implemented a mobile order option for the famous bucket!
This popcorn bucket created quite a frenzy when it was released for EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts, and it continues to be majorly popular. From what we’ve seen, the Figment popcorn bucket has once again SOLD OUT.
But it never hurts to check the My Disney Experience app for any updates. If we see Figment become available again, we’ll be sure to let you know.

More Characters!
Mickey meet-and-greets are back in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! You can find him at Red Carpet Dreams, all dressed up in his Sorcerer Mickey Costume, complete with a Fantasia background.
You can also visit Minnie at this location, so for now Mickey and Minnie are back together again in this space. There were no PhotoPass photographers with Mickey during our visit, but you can still take lots of selfies!

This week we also spotted Daisy making an appearance over at EPCOT! Though her visits are less structured, scheduled, and themed than something like Mickey’s modified meet-and-greet at Red Carpet Dreams, it’s still nice to see her over here. Be sure to check and see if she’s greeting guests in this spot during your visit to EPCOT.
Just goes to show, you’ve got to keep those eyes open for special character appearances!
