All four Disney parks reached capacity this President’s Day weekend, which means one thing: crowds, crowds, and more crowds. Basically what we’re telling you is this: be prepared to wait if you’re planning to be in the parks on a holiday weekend.
You probably know to expect long lines for Disney’s popular attractions pretty much all year, but during President’s Day weekend, we even saw long lines for FOOD. *cries in hunger* Seriously, even a few scoops of popcorn will cost you a good 10 minutes (at least) in line. Don’t believe us? We’ll show you!
Storybook Circus is usually a pretty quiet little area in the Magic Kingdom. Yes, there are two fun little attractions (and maybe even a character or two!), but compared to somewhere like Frontierland, we don’t usually see THIS many people over here. This was the line just for popcorn!
Even Gaston’s Tavern was unusually busy!
Magic Kingdom wasn’t the only park with long lines for food, though! Over in the EPCOT World Showcase, the France pavilion was FILLED with people! The line for the Festival of the Arts food booth wrapped all around the pavilion.
If you thought that food booth line was bad, avert your eyes! The line for Disney’s new quick-service restaurant, Crêpes À Emporter at La Crêperie de Paris, looped around itself THREE times!
You better be DEDICATED to the idea of wanting sushi to wait in this line over in the Japan pavilion. No thank you, Disney!
The deeper into the World Showcase we went, the more lines we found. The Italy pavilion had a pretty long line, as you may have guessed.
At least all that waiting pays off with some tasty snacks! And if you follow along with our food reviews, you know exactly what to order. 😉
Bring an extra serving of patience to the parks this weekend, and best of luck! Fingers crossed these crowds die down a little as the week progresses.

Kinda takes any and all thought of enjoyment out of the picture!

Well when they only have minimum staffing by choice, you end up with long wait times. Disney will claim it is a staffing issue and they don’t have enough applicants to fill the open positions, but we all know that it is their business model of “less people to do more work”. Plus the fact they are only willing to pay the lowest union wages when they can pay them a lot more. Even with the staff they have now, they limit most of them to only part time hours when they easily give them full time hours and offer them plenty of over time. But it’s cheaper to staff Skeleton crews just to save a few dollars. It’s not like they care about the guest anyway.

Were these lines by people not using the mobile order option?? How much better is mobile order? I could do that more easily.

They actually save quite a lot. Part time employees hours are limited so that the company is not required to provide benefits. Company paid benefits, insurance, 401k or similar and other costly items add up to a lot for full time employees. Cut overhead, increase revenue, maximize profits.

Mobile Ordering worked well and easy, but the lines everywhere today were the longest I’ve ever seen in 30 years
