When it comes to feeling RIGHT at home in your Disney World hotel room, you might assume that the resorts have you covered with literally anything and everything!
Sure, this is true with a LOT of things, especially snacks that come in Mickey shapes! But there are still some basic essentials that you might want to consider bringing with you!
Trust us, as magical as a trip to Disney World is, it’s even more magical when you’ve brought some of the comforts of home along with you.
Whether for comfort or for planning or organization, these are 10 Disney hotel room essentials we highly recommend!
Wireless Hot Spot
Anyone who travels for work, or works remotely, is all too familiar with the panic attack you might get when you open your computer to find…slow WiFi?! Whether you’re trying to get work done or log into your Disney+ account, having access to the reliable Internet is important nowadays.
That’s why we suggest taking a wireless hot spot with you! These small, easy-to-pack gadgets act as a remote WiFi outlet wherever you go. So if your Disney hotel room happens to have lackluster Internet service, you’ll be able to use it as a backup!
Hand Sanitizer
We all know the importance of staying healthy while on vacation. To do that, we need some hand sanitizer.
Fortunately, this is SUPER easy to find, SUPER cheap, and SUPER easy to pack along in any toiletry kit, and they make a HUGE difference in terms of cleanliness and safety too! And there are tons of options now, you can find hand sanitizer wipes, travel-sized, huge value-sized, gel, spray, and every fruity scented! You probably already have your own favorite, but make sure you’ve replenished your stock before you leave on your Disney trip.
Medicine Cabinet Essentials
Yes, you can find any basic medicine cabinet fixture in Disney World conveniently enough, but it’d be sooo much easier — and more reassuring! — to have them on hand in your hotel room!
Before you leave home for the airport, don’t forget to pack some handy necessities like aspirin, sunscreen, bandaids, and cough drops. In other words, whatever items provide reassurance for you at home, you’ll want to consider taking with you to Disney!
Travel Alarm Clock
The early bird catches the worm! Or in the case of Disney World, the early bird catches the rope drop! If you’re one of those Disney-goers who like to book it to the in-demand rides FIRST thing in the AM, then you’re gonna want a wake-up call!
Regardless of which park you’re visiting, a travel alarm clock could be your salvation. We also love options with white noise just in case you have noisy neighbors! After all, you’re in Disney World for vacation! You can sleep when the trip’s over! Even though many guests use the alarm setting or app on their phones, it’s reassuring to have a backup, especially since you may not find these amenities in your hotel room anymore.
Travel Hampers
Especially for those who might be staying in Disney World for several days (jealous!), things can get kinda cluttered kinda quick…
…that’s where a handy travel hamper comes in clutch! The kind that easily folds down and pops back up makes a WORLD of difference in terms of organizing clutter and keeping used items separate. Plus, it can easily slide right into a space in the closet and be out of the way. You’ll be amazed at how much it helps keep your room less cluttered and makes sure that your dirty clothes don’t get mixed up with your clean clothes!
Power Strip
In hotel rooms, electrical outlets are of the UTMOST importance. Especially if you’re traveling with numerous family members or friends, things can get competitive REAL quick for those outlets!
Conveniently, there’s a smart solution for such a dilemma: a power strip! By packing your own block of extra electrical sockets, you’ll be able to multiply your options and guarantee that you can charge all of your family’s devices! We love this flat plug making it convenient to plug in behind furniture and it has two USB and two USBC.
Snacks
It might seem counterintuitive to BYO snacks to Disney World, aka the Vacation Destination of Snacks! But let’s face it: Disney World snacks are not cheap. And they add up fast!
So between visits to the parks or the restaurants, it’s a good idea to bring a supply of essentials to keep in your room. That way, any time you crave a little treat, you don’t NEED to spend more money. Plus, sometimes it’s just nice to eat something that isn’t Mickey-shaped, even in Disney World. Keep a stash of travel-friendly snacks like granola bars, fruit snacks, trail mix, or snack crackers for grab-and-go breakfasts or midnight snacks and that can help you save more money for those special Mickey-shaped treats!
Night Light or Mini Reading Light
After an exciting day at Disney, some people are ready to fall asleep immediately, while others like to unwind a little with a good or a TV show. And in case you don’t want to disturb your bunkmates, a little night light makes a huge difference.
And this little gadget is handy not just for bedtime reading. If you’re sharing a room with little ones (or let’s face it, even some of us bigger kids) with different sleep needs, this tool can help you navigate around the room without disturbing anyone after bedtime or before that alarm goes off. MUCH easier than using the flashlight on your phone, a mini reading light makes it easy to skim a few pages without waking anyone else in the room!
Command Strip Hooks
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, organization is KEY! And not to be dramatic, but clutter is your worst nightmare. Especially crucial in smaller hotel rooms and on cruises, where figuring out where to store things becomes a HASSLE, command strip hooks make a world of difference!
Bringing along a few extra hooks allows you to keep things off the floor, reserve drawers for other items, and maximize your closet space without letting things pile up into a heap on the floor. These are great for organizing charging cords, and hanging hats (or mouse ears!), and some of the heftier hooks can even hold the weight of purses, backpacks, and shopping bags!
So there you go! With these basic essentials, you’ll be well on your way to a magical, stress-free, and CONVENIENT trip to Disney World! For more Disney essentials, make sure to check out our Amazon Storefront!

If you’re planning to buy a bottle of wine at your Disney hotel, bring a corkscrew. The hotel gift shops may have one you can borrow to open your bottle but I’m going to start packing one just in case the wine I want has a cork instead is a screw top.
You might consider bringing a nightlight or two for bathroom and room lightly at night when you get up to use the bathroom–dollar store ones work well
We never go there without a power bank that I recharge every night. Someone’s phone will need it since the parks tend to drain you battery.
