There have been a lot of milestones recently for Disney Parks around the world!
Disney World is celebrating its 50th anniversary, Disneyland Paris is celebrating its 30th anniversary, Disneyland turns 67 this year, and now we can add to the list that Tokyo Disneyland just reached a MASSIVE milestone!
Tokyo Disneyland first opened to guests on April 15th, 1983, and now, nearly 39 years later, it has welcomed its 800 MILLIONTH guest. Yes, you read that right, as of February 26th, 2022, 800 MILLION people have visited Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. That is a LOT of people, y’all!
The resort recently celebrated this major achievement with Kenji Yoshida, Representative Director, President and COO Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (the company that operates Tokyo Disneyland Resort) sharing “I want to express my gratitude to the countless guests who have visited Tokyo Disney Resort, to the Walt Disney Company who is our important partner, to all those who have continuously supported Oriental Land Co., Ltd., and to the cast members who strive every day to bring happiness to our guests.”
So congratulations to Tokyo Disneyland for this achievement — here’s to another 800 million guests in the years to come! With the addition of new attractions (like the recent Beauty and the Beast ride), as well as the new Toy Story Hotel, we can’t wait to see what’s to come.
