With all the news about Disney World’s Star Wars hotel, you might have forgotten about another space attraction that’s opening soon! But now we’ve got an update about the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster in EPCOT.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is opening this summer in EPCOT’s World Discovery. It’ll feature popular Marvel characters and be one of the longest indoor roller coasters ever built. And now we’ve got a first look at the loading area for this attraction!
Imagineer Zach Riddley shared a photo and some concept art of the loading station at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This is where guests will board the ride vehicles before “blasting off into space.”
In the concept art, you can see the ride vehicles, which Riddley has informed us are called Starjumper vehicles.
We’ve already seen an up-close look at these new ride vehicles, and we’ve also been keeping an eye on the progress of the ride’s entrance area. The Nova Corps Starblaster Ship outside is looking great!
Riddley says that the Imagineers have been working hard to test the ride system and get it ready for its Summer 2022 opening.
We’ll keep you updated with any more details about this exciting new roller coaster! Stay tuned with DFB for all the latest news from Disney World.
