Thanks to a little thing we like to call the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, which brings new snacks, entertainment, and merchandise to the West Coast, we’re finding new treats all over Disneyland!
Of course, the festival features a wide variety of special food booths that serve fun new desserts and entrees, but some of Disney California Adventure’s other quick-service restaurants got in on the action, too!
Now that we’ve covered the heavy-hitters at the DCA Food & Wine Festival, it’s time to turn our attention to some of the other food and beverage locations in Disneyland, like Smokejumpers Grill! We found several new seasonal and festival-exclusive items on the menu, so you know we had to give them a try. We went for the Pepperoni Pizza Slider for $7.99 and the Peach-Blueberry Lemonade Cocktail for $13.50.
The Peach-Blueberry Lemonade Cocktail is made with vodka, blue curaçao, peach-blueberry lemonade, and blueberry-flavored boba balls. It was very sour and had a strong fruit flavor (we mainly tasted peaches). The vodka flavor was present, but not overpowering, but the blue curaçao stood out the most. As with most of Disney’s boba beverages, the little boba balls got stuck in our straw a few times.
Our Pepperoni Pizza Slider contained an Angus beef & pork sausage patty, pepperoni, pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and fried pepperoni. It’s served on a ciabatta slider roll and topped with pepperoncini. At $7.99, we thought it was a little small, but if you’re looking for a little snack, this might be it!
We were pleasantly surprised by this slider! The meat was cooked perfectly, the bread had an excellent texture (and it wasn’t dry!!), and there was an even ratio of pizza sauce to meat. If you hate spicy things, be aware that the pepperoni had a slightly spicy flavor, but it wasn’t burn-your-mouth-spicy at all. Interestingly, all the flavors in this slider tasted sort of like spaghetti and meatballs!
Overall, we were quite happy with both new items on the menu here at Smokejumpers Grill! If you enjoy a tart, fruity cocktail, or a warm, Italian sandwich, visit this restaurant in Disney California Adventure. In the meantime, stay tuned for more food reviews, Disney news, and more!
