We’ve got several updates that you need to read before you head to Disney World soon!
Disney is continually updating things in their parks and at their hotels, which means that sometimes rides, attractions, and other areas will close temporarily for refurbishments. So that you don’t get caught off guard by these closures, we’ve got a list for you of everything that’s scheduled to be unavailable next week in Disney World!
We’ll start our tour of this week’s closures in Magic Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom
The only scheduled attraction closure in Magic Kingdom is the Walt Disney World Railroad. This attraction has been closed for a long time, and it still doesn’t have an opening date yet.
Part of the reason for its closure is the construction over at the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster in Tomorrowland.
We’re expecting the Railroad to reopen when construction finishes on the TRON ride, although we don’t have an end date for that project either. We’ll keep an eye out for specific dates for both of these attractions!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Expedition Everest — a popular roller coaster in Disney’s Animal Kingdom — is currently closed for refurbishments.
This attraction is expected to reopen sometime in mid-April 2022.
Finding Nemo: The Musical is closed as well, and when this attraction reopens, it’ll actually return as Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!
The new show features characters from Finding Dory and will have some of the same music as the original musical.

EPCOT
The gift shop Souk-Al-Magreb is closed in the Morocco pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase.
This spot has been closed for a while now, and it still doesn’t have a reopening date. On Disney World’s calendar, it’s scheduled to be closed at least through mid-April.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
A couple of long-term closures are continuing in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Voyage of the Little Mermaid show is closed right now, and it doesn’t have a reopening date yet. But you can still visit the Journey of the Little Mermaid attraction in Magic Kingdom!
And the nighttime show Fantasmic! is also closed. We know that this show will return sometime in 2022, but Disney hasn’t given a more specific timeline yet.
When it does return, there will be some updates such as new characters and stunts!

Disney World Water Parks
Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon water park recently reopened, but now Blizzard Beach is closed for some refurbishments.
There isn’t an opening date for this park yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we learn more.
Check out the menu changes at Typhoon Lagoon.
Disney World Hotels
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is still open to guests, but they began refurbishment recently on 200 new DVC Resort Studios, which will be located in the Big Pine Key building.
Some DVC villas will also be getting updates during this project. DVC members can currently book their stay at these rooms, which are expected to open in the summer of 2022.

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort has still not reopened yet, but you can make your reservation now if you want to stay there after it reopens on March 31st, 2022.
This hotel is the last one to reopen, so after March 31st, all of Disney World’s hotels will have returned!

Hotel Pool Refurbishments
A couple of Disney World hotel pools are currently closed, but there are other pools open for guests staying at these resorts. The Cozy Cone Pool (in the Cars section of the hotel) is currently closed.
This closure is expected to last through mid-April.
While the Cozy Cone Pool is closed, the Flippin’ Fins Pool and Big Blue Pool are open for guests at this hotel. And the Schoolyard Splashground has also reopened and is available to guests now!
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Samawati Springs Pool (at Kidani Village) is closed. It will remain closed through April 2022. Guests at this hotel can head to the Uzima Springs Pool (at Jambo House) instead.
And finally, the Grandstand Leisure Pool at Disney’s Saratoga Springs is closed right now, and it’s expected to remain closed through mid-March 2022.
That’s it for our round-up of all the closures in Disney World next week! Keep following DFB for more updates as you plan your upcoming vacation.
