The Disney College Program has been a rite of passage for thousands of Disney World fans over the years!
Disney CPs, as they are called, get the opportunity to get work experience, earn some money, learn about that famous Disney customer service, and live for a few months to a year in apartments that, at times, have been known for their rowdy parties.
For more than two decades, one of those apartment complexes that housed Disney CPs was Vista Way. We previously shared that it had been put on the market and now, Vista Way has been SOLD!
The apartment complex on nearly 35 acres very close to Disney World — near I-4 and SR 535 — was bought for $90 million, according to the Orlando Business Journal. Vista Way has been closed and empty for nearly two years, since Disney suspended its College Program during the early days of the pandemic. The apartment complex had been for sale for nearly a year.
But the Vista Way apartments may have been headed for sale even before the pandemic happened. In 2021, Disney opened Flamingo Crossings Village apartment complex in the Flamingo Crossings development area west of Disney World, with plans to house College Program participants there. Right now, the Flamingo Crossings Village apartment are open to be rented by Disney Cast Members.
So if you’re wondering, “What is going to become of Vista Way?” we’ve got news for you about that! The company that dropped that $90M on the apartments — Grand Peaks — is doing some renovations and will then open up the apartments for rent this summer.
The complex’s new name is Emerald Grove, and the apartments are getting new interiors including quart countertops and stainless steel appliances, according to the (brand spankin’ new) Emerald Grove Facebook Page.
It sounds like this new apartment complex super close to the Disney World action could make a splash in the Little Lake Bryan neighborhood, especially with the two resort-style pools on property!
