As if the Deluxe Disney World hotels aren’t fancy enough, 200 NEW rooms have been added to one of the most luxurious resorts in Disney World.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort just got new Resort Studios, which are DVC rooms located in the Big Pine Key building of the hotel. Construction on these studios began on March 1st, and the rooms officially opened on June 20th! We already got to tour a model for what these fancy rooms will look like — Come along with us to see the new studios!
We headed to the Grand Floridian for a tour of the new DVC Resort Studios, which are the first of their kind in Disney World. This hotel already has villas (which are being refurbished as well), but these are the first Resort Studios.
The new rooms are located in the Big Pine Key building. Let’s head inside and take a look!
The new studios are themed after Mary Poppins Returns, which is the same theme that can be found at the Citricos restaurant located at this hotel. You can see the theme in the artwork and also in some details around the room.
The main room area has two beds, a dresser and TV, and a couch that converts into a daybed. Above the couch were some gorgeous watercolor paintings depicting a scene from the movie!
There are instructions near the sofa that detail how to change it into a bed.
The main beds have soft teal headboards with little reading lights on either side. The jeweled tones here contrast with paler pastels throughout the rest of the room. There’s a nightstand between the two beds with a lamp, a phone, and a couple of drawers.
The large cabinet beside the beds opens for more storage space, and you can find a couple of robes and some extra pillows and blankets inside. Just behind these cabinets is a coffee station with a cabinet that opens up as a small fridge.
Take a look at the beautiful Mary Poppins Returns artwork displayed over that coffee station!
This room has a desk area outside of the bathroom, which has a table and stool, along with a mirror.
The wall in this area has a mural of flowers and birds, which adds to the whimsical theme.
The bathroom has a vanity with two sinks and a separate area for the toilet and shower. The gold tones and pastels continue into this room…
…and you can see more watercolor artwork here as well.
The water closet has a shower/tub combo and more gold-toned fixtures.
Back in the main room, we checked out the view. Keep in mind that this model room is located in a different area than where the Resort Studios actually are. The new rooms are all located in the Big Pine Key building, whereas this model room was in a different area.
We want to highlight a few details that really brought in the Mary Poppins Returns theme. First of all, did you spot that fancy chandelier in the main room?
The inside ring has lights that look like candles, but the outside has several little glass birds!
The lampshade on the nightstand also brought in the whimsical theme with more flowers and Mary Poppins’ iconic umbrella.
And we were so excited to find a hidden Mickey in the air vent! But this vent went a step further — there were also hidden umbrellas to match the Mary Poppins theme. Can you spot them? Here’s a hint — they’re really close to that hidden Mickey.
These new rooms are open now, and you can already book your reservations for them!
The new rooms look beautiful, and we’re excited to see these and other updates coming to the Grand Floridian. Keep following DFB for more of the latest Disney World news!

I knew there’d be a catch to this.
Tasha says
Oh the new GFV rooms don’t have those tvs in the mirror in the bathroom that’s disappointing not do they have the big walk in showers. I think i like the rooms in the current dvc building
Lolly says
How in the world is this considered a “studio”?
Patti says
What about the kitchenette, without that this it is not a dvc studio to me, just another room.
Julie says
It has less amenities in the room than a value room. No microwave no real mini fridge.
DEIA MARZAGAO says
How can we know which rooms are new, remodelated or without carpet? Going in november, 12th 2023
RandyC says
I agree with the comments already posted concerning the microwave, toaster, and walk-in shower. Not sure this is really meets the standards of a DVC Studio. Tasha is right. I prefer the rooms at the original GF DVC building.
