Refurbishment is a typical part of Disney Parks life. We often see rides and pools on the refurbishment schedule, but we’ve got a big restaurant update!

Three popular Disneyland rides have recently undergone or are still undergoing refurbishment, and another restaurant joined the list! Will this closure affect your next visit to Disneyland? Let’s find out!
Blue Bayou Restaurant serves a hearty menu with dishes like Jambalaya, Chicken Gumbo, Cajun Cauliflower, and the famous Monte Cristo Sandwich. The restaurant is especially unique in that diners get to eat under an evening sky while overlooking a scene from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.
Blue Bayou
Sit right on the edge of the water and you’ll be able to really watch as guests on Pirates of the Caribbean sail by! Food AND an epic view? Yes, please!
The VIEW
As of March 11th, 2022, Blue Bayou was listed on Disneyland’s refurbishment schedule with a closure date of April 21st, 2022.

The Blue Bayou Restaurant page also reflected this as the date on which it would close for refurbishment, and the restaurant closed on April 21st for an unknown amount of time.

Because the restaurant is situated within an area of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, it’s possible that Blue Bayou closed to accommodate the refurbishment taking place at Pirates, which began on March 14th. Pirates of the Caribbean is currently scheduled to reopen on June 30th, 2022.
Yo ho! Yo ho!
As of May 24th, we noticed that Blue Bayou is no longer listed on Disneyland’s refurbishment calendar beginning on June 24th, 2022. If you visit Blue Bayou’s site there are no hours listed for June 24th and reservations can’t yet be made, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for more updates.
