🚨 NEW RESTAURANT ALERT! 🚨 You’ve had your Gideon’s Bakehouse cookies, your 50th Anniversary snacks, and all kinds of other treats in Disney World…
…but a NEW spot will be opening in Disney World in the future with all kinds of unique treats for you to try!
Today, Disney announced that a NEW table-service restaurant called The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers will be opening at Disney’s BoardWalk!
The new restaurant is expected to open in 2023 and it will offer both sweet and savory menus, as well as afternoon tea service! Disney notes that it will feature a “whimsical atmosphere that complements the magic of the idyllic charm of Disney’s BoardWalk that guests know and love.”
Wondering where The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers comes from? Well, according to their website Gwendolyn Rogers has had a passion for cooking and baking for her whole life. Gwendolyn started the first Cake Bake Shop with just herself and one employee. After some time, she opened a second location.
During that time, the Cake Bake Shop grew tremendously in popularity! It was featured in things like O, The Oprah Magazine and Williams-Sonoma.
Over the past several years, Gwendolyn and the shop have received multiple awards and been recognized by or featured on Food Network, Oprah, Rachel Ray, USA Today, and more!
A quick glance at their existing menus shows savory items like Truffle Pommes Frites, Quiche, Sandwiches, and more. There are also, of course, TONS of cakes, pies, and other sweet treats on the menu too including french pastries, cheesecake, and other items.
We can’t wait to see what sweet treats this spot brings to Disney World! The only trouble will be fitting in all the delicious treats we want to eat while we’re there!
An official menu and opening date have not yet been announced for the Cake Shop’s location in Disney World. We’ll be on the lookout for that. Keep following DFB for more delicious Disney food news!

The Cake Bake Shop is a very popular destination to go to in the Indianapolis area (there’s not too much to do in Indiana, haha)! I finally got the chance to go to the original location last year. It definitely has a “destination fairytale” vibe and every corner is extremely detailed, so I can see this place going to Disney World for sure!

Yummy!

I live in Carmel where Cake Bake’s second shop is located. Their savory food is good, their afternoon tea is fun, and pretty much all of their desserts are great. The shops are decorated whimsically too. I often thought they would be a perfect fit for Disney. I am excited to see what their new shop will look like and I can’t wait for some of those forthcoming food reviews!

Is this going to take the place of the ESPN club?

Hi! Thanks for all you do! Do we know where on the Boardwalk it will go?

Where on the Boardwalk will this be located? Im thinking maybe inside the screen door.

Any idea where at the Boardwalk it will be?

I live just minutes from the Cake Bake Shop in Carmel, IN and can confirm it will be a wonderful addition to the Boardwalk!

We here in Indianapolis have always said that Cake Bake, with it’s fantasy pink Parisian decor and glittery desserts, would be a natural fit for Disney World. The custard-textured rosemary/ham/goat cheese quiche and a side of chicken velvet soup, with a slice of coconut/passionfruit cake to finish, is my go-to meal pick. Disney guests are going to love this new restaurant option!

My son’s girlfriend works at the Cake Bake Shop here in Indianapolis. It’s super cute and the cake is delicious!

So which restaurant will this replace? I hope not Flying Fish or Trattoria (hope Rapunzel returns!!) Big River Grill being replaced seems like a good option.
Madelyn says
I really hope this shop and its afternoon tea service is not meant as a replacement for the Garden View Tea at the Grand Floridian. It was always such a special experience and atmosphere, especially around the holidays. They still have not brought it back; I really miss it.
André D says
Browsing their website, the style seems better fit for the Grand Floridian than Boardwalk. Winner of best chocolate chip cookie? Was Gideons in that running? Will be nice to see a new addition to Boardwalk, as it is now it really is lacking any exciting experiences that make guests want to visit. As a hotel guest, it doesn’t offer enough to make worth exploring more than a means to get to EPCOT.

Hi Leonard! Disney has not yet released that information, but we are keeping an eye on it!
