Ignorance might sometimes be bliss, but not when it comes to a Disney World vacation.
No, when you’re planning a trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth, it’s better to know as much as you can about the parks, restaurants, hotels, and attractions. That way you’ll be able to plan the BEST trip possible for you and your group. To help you out, we put together a list of everything that’s going to be CLOSED in Disney World next week so that you’re equipped with all the latest information that could affect your trip.
Magic Kingdom
The Walt Disney World Railroad is the only ride that’s scheduled to be closed in Magic Kingdom. Unfortunately, we don’t have a reopening date for this attraction right now. It’s on Disney’s refurbishments calendar through mid-May, which is as far as the calendar goes right now.
Construction on the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster in Tomorrowland has interrupted the train tracks, which is part of the reason for the Railroad’s closure.
We don’t know exactly when TRON might open in Disney World, but we’ll keep an eye out for specific dates for both of these attractions!
The Festival of Fantasy Parade returned to Magic Kingdom!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
In Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the roller coaster Expedition Everest is closed for refurbishments. It’s expected to re-open in mid-April 2022, although Disney hasn’t given a specific return date.
Finding Nemo: The Musical is closed as well. When this show returns, it’ll actually be called Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!
The new show features characters from Finding Dory and will have some of the same songs as the original musical.

EPCOT
The gift shop Souk-Al-Magreb is closed in the Morocco pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase.
This spot has been closed for a while now, and Disney hasn’t announced a reopening date. However, the gift shop disappears from the refurbishment calendar on April 24th, 2022. So it’s possible that the store will reopen on that day! But keep in mind that this shop has disappeared and then returned to the calendar before, so we don’t know for sure.
In addition, the EPCOT Experience is going to close permanently this week on March 14th. This attraction was an exhibit that showcased the upcoming additions to EPCOT as part of the park’s massive transformation.
Imagineer Zach Riddley announced that the exhibit will be closed to make way for new experiences in the Odyssey Pavilion.
Check out a construction update on EPCOT’s upcoming roller coaster.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a couple of continuing closures as well. The Voyage of the Little Mermaid show is closed right now, and it doesn’t have a reopening date yet.
And the nighttime show Fantasmic! is also closed. This show will return sometime in 2022, but Disney hasn’t given a more specific timeline yet.
When it does return, there will be some updates such as new characters and stunts!

Disney World Water Parks
Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park is currently closed. We don’t have a reopening date for this park, but Typhoon Lagoon (Disney’s other water park) is currently open!
So you can still head in to enjoy water rides, pools, and more.
Check out one of our favorite snacks at Typhoon Lagoon.
Disney World Hotels
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is still open to guests, but Disney recently began refurbishment on 200 new DVC Resort Studios, which will be located in the Big Pine Key building.
The DVC pre-sale for these rooms opened on March 3rd, 2022, and DVC members can book their stay at the rooms beginning March 14th. Non-DVC members can book their stay at the new rooms beginning March 31st. The new rooms are expected to open in the summer of 2022.
We recently got to tour a model for what the new rooms will look like!
Check out a tour of the new rooms here!
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort has not reopened yet, but reservations are available now if you want to stay there once it reopens on March 31st, 2022.
This hotel is the last one to reopen, so after March 31st, all of Disney World’s hotels will have returned!

Hotel Pool Refurbishments
Several Disney World hotel pools are currently closed, so be sure to see if any of these refurbishments are affecting your upcoming trip. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Samawati Springs Pool (at Kidani Village) is closed. It will remain closed through April 2022. Guests at this hotel can head to the Uzima Springs Pool (at Jambo House) instead.
The Cozy Cone Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort (in the Cars section of the hotel) is currently closed. This closure is expected to last through mid-April, 2022.
While the Cozy Cone Pool is closed, the Flippin’ Fins Pool and Big Blue Pool are open for guests at this hotel. And the Schoolyard Splashground has also reopened and is available to guests now!
The Righteous Reef playground area in the Finding Nemo section of the hotel is currently closed for some refurbishments.
At Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, the Martinique Village pool and Fuentes del Morro Water Play Area are both closed for refurbishment.
The pool is expected to reopen in mid-April 2022, and the water play area is expected to reopen in late March 2022. Other pools at this hotel are still available for guests, such as the Fuentes del Morro Pool.
And finally, the Grandstand Leisure Pool at Disney’s Saratoga Springs is closed right now, and it’s expected to remain closed through mid-March 2022.
