Drop EVERYTHING. This is not a drill. You need to get to Disneyland ASAP.
We don’t mean to alarm you, but one of our all-time FAVORITE seasonal treats is officially back in Disneyland Park! If you love springtime, chocolate, and fudge (who doesn’t?) then you’ve got to check out this iconic treat. It comes in a variety of mystery flavors, and we’ve got the scoop on which flavors are currently available in the park!
For several years now, Disneyland has brought out chocolate-covered fudge Easter eggs as a way to celebrate the start of springtime! These eggs can be found at Candy Palace, and we’ve been obsessed with them for over a DECADE now.
When we first discovered these treasures in 2011, we learned that the creators were Chris Thompson and Rob McHargue, who are also the creators of the famous Disneyland candy canes that you’ll see around holiday time.
The fudge-y eggs are typically made only once a week during the spring season, and they’ll have different mystery flavors with each new week! The recipes have actually been patented by Disney, so this really is a truly iconic Disneyland treat. Each egg is 8oz, although the dense fudge definitely feels heavier.
In the past, we’ve tried varieties like Chocolate Nut, Vanilla Nut, Chocolate Cream, Black Walnut, and (one of our personal favorites) Peanut Butter Fudge. As you can see, we aren’t the only ones that LOVE these special treats! The line can get pretty long, so make sure to leave yourself some extra time if you’re planning on trying some of these eggs.
We arrived about 20 minutes before they were released at 2PM and the line had already been cut off for the day. So, if you want to be sure you can secure the goods we recommend checking with Candy Palace when you arrive in the morning to see when the eggs will be released and then plan to get in line about an hour or so in advance.
We spoke to a Cast Member and were told that this year, the eggs are made every Saturday and Monday until Easter. There’s also a limit of two eggs per guest; chocolate eggs don’t grow on trees, after all!
The good news is that each egg is pretty big. They’re totally shareable, though we wouldn’t blame you for wanting it all to yourself. 😉
If you’re hoping to grab one of these treats, you’ll need to hurry! They’re only available for as long as supplies last (and supplies don’t usually last very long with these delicious eggs).
Remember that the flavors change each week too! If you really want to know the flavor of your egg before you buy it, you can check on the ingredients label for a clue. Keep following DFB for more of the latest news about Disney treats!
